Synopsis

There is excitement in the air when a Hollywood crew comes to Lawrenceton to film a movie about the town’s sleuthy librarian, Aurora Teagarden. However, when the film’s leading lady is found murdered in her dressing room, Aurora enlists her Real Murders Club members to help gather clues. At the same time, she experiences mounting concern that Aida is becoming attracted to the film’s director who, like everyone else working on the set that day, is considered a suspect. And this time around Martin is especially worried about Aurora’s safety after learning that the film’s screenwriter, who has a romantic history with her, emerges as the prime suspect.

Reviews

iloveautumn-98193 I have thoroughly enjoyed this series thus far... that is, until Last Scene Alive. I did not read the books so the movies were my introduction to the Teagarden series. However, I did read reviews of the Teagarden novel series and was curious to see how I might react or feel about the movie. Even though the reviews were of the books, I would have to agree with many and confess that when it came to the movie, I was equally disappointed as the book reviews. The movie diverted from the 'norm' and took a different approach to what we have come to expect and love in the movie series. I missed the strong character cast that has been a part of the series until this point--even though I know that the books such as Last Scene Alive, started to change the characters. In watching Last Scene Alive I felt it lacked the character substance that the other movies provided which endeared many of us to those characters. I sincerely hope that Hallmark and the author can somehow work this out where they are able to keep the cast. After all, the supporting cast has been a phenomenal influence, making the series successful. But because of my personal attachment to those characters, Hallmark might lose me as a viewer of future episodes---IF they get rid of anyone that has previously made this series so fun and endearing. In short, imho, the future success as I see it, will hinge on what they do with the 'now' questionable supporting cast after watching Last Scene Alive.
ravko I have really liked all of the Aurora Tea garden movies except this one. This last one was missing the wonderful combination of Humor, Romance and Drama that all the other movies had. I am not sure if it was the missing characters, the writing but this move left much to be desired. I do love the Aurora Tea garden mystery's and I hope they keep making them. I just really want them to be like all the others except this last one.
bkoganbing Candace Cameron Bure is back with her Aurora Teagarden mysteries and someone is making a movie based on her. Her old friend from previous Aurora Teagarden films Robin Dunne has written a book draft and a screenplay and Hollywood has come to her home town to film it on the authentic locations. All this is making her CIA agent boyfriend Yannick Bisson concerned and a bit jealous as both Bisson and Dunne circle each other warily throughout the film. But there are bigger problems at hand. On the day that shooting was supposed to start, the actress playing the Teagarden type character is murdered in her trailer. What makes this all so confusing for authorities is that there are two criminals out there with differing motives. One is a bit deranged and the other falls into the rational category. You'll have to watch the film to get that and find out who is who. Most of the recurring characters are back and Candace still has her murder book club meeting at the library where she works. She's as perky as ever and I'm sure will be back. Most of the Hallmark Mystery films are pretty entertaining and well constructed. This one no exception.
