Ty Jones did an excellent job both as a director and as an actor. He managed to keep my interest from beginning to finish with me wondering why both the man and wife was being punished. As the movie progressed we were able to find the reason and see the strength of the couple surviving together and healing their loss and how they were able to change the way they were before this incident. I have watched a lot of independent as well as major films that was all slash and gore and no natural haunting and horror. Ty was able to put all of these ingredients into a very well made independent film. New directors and screenwriters can learn a great deal by watching this film.

I am not very eloquent, so hope this review flows well to all who read it. :-) I for one really enjoyed the movie Last Breath. It was described by a friend as a psychological horror film, and since I love horror films, I wanted to see it. Now a days it seems that horror films are all about the blood, guts, and gore. That is one thing I enjoyed about this film is that it wasn't centered on the typical blood, guts, and gore, it used those as effects, but wasn't the staple of the entire film. This film dealt a lot more with the psyche. Many times throughout the movie I would feel that I was beginning to know who/what the bad guy was, only then to have another component thrown in that made me start to re-think everything through. Then at the end, I personally was blown away when the bad guy was revealed. I hadn't seen it coming, but it made sense based on things said and done throughout the whole movie. I was close in my presumptions, but hadn't quite fully seen the "larger picture". There were also many little things through out that I enjoyed due to the possible double meanings, such as the building itself, the door closing, the speaker, etc. I won't go much past that but if you watch the movie, I think you will also see the parallels those items represent. As a few above have mentioned, yes there is a message to this movie, and personally, I think a very good message. Plus, if you enjoy movies that actually make you think, then I believe you will enjoy this one.

I bought a ticket to "last Breath" hoping to be entertained by a fun indie horror movie and was pleasantly surprised when it proved to be so much more. The plot was compelling, at first reminding me of a setup out the Saw series and then surprising me with a twist and powerful ending. The practical special effects were impressive and the music really served the story.I'm always impressed by indie filmmakers who are able to overcome, almost seeming to thrive on limited resources and then end up making films that rival those with ten times the budget. Last Breath certainly fits that description.I give Last Breath a perfect "10" for breaking the cookie cutter horror movie mold by keeping me on the edge of my seat and then sending me home with a message I'm still thinking about more than a year later.

What a refreshing take on the no-budget horror genre. Rarely do you come across developed and interesting characters that are put into a situation that has deeper significance than just gore. I was prepared for a thrill ride, but I wasn't prepared to be taken to a place inside myself that is normally left untapped. This is one of those films that is fun to surprise your friends with, and then spend the following couple of hours debating its significance and relevancy to your own life. Pay attention because to the clues embedded throughout, and in particular the first act, in order to experience the biggest payoff at the end. Kudos!
