The movie is based loosely on some technobabble things about time travel, which is an insult to the intelligence of those of us who have read about it in a newspaper or heard about it somewhere, because the theory as treated in the movie does not coincide with physical facts, and the plot is represented by subjects that have no idea about what they are talking about.Of course! what did you expect; that they represented time travel as it happens in real life? that the parallel universes looked like the parallel universes we already know? what kind of bloody idiotic moron would go to a kids movie then starts criticizing it because the characters were childish, or because the plot was so simple that kids could understand it even though it was advertised that way? No, this is not a kids movie, but it follows the same situation where somebody spoofs a zombie movie and mocks the hero because zombies walk slowly, and everybody criticizes the movie because now they don't feel like their heroes are so super after running away from slow walking zombies. It said 'Will Ferrell' in the cover, what did you expected. It is a comedy; it was never presented any other way. There are lots of bad reviews because the series made you feel intellectual when you watched it as a kid but now you feel ridiculed. Yes, that's what normally happens when you see something that is a spoof of something else. Also, if you feel ridiculed when you took your kids to see how awesome was the series you watched as a kid, and instead you show them potty humor, you may have thought about it before taking your kids to a movie that was rated PG13Actually, It is a good think they made this movie, as it's been long since a comedy like this was made, from the times of 'Naked Gun', 'Hot Shots' or even 'Top Secret' (and maybe Mystery Men). Nobody knows how to make good comedies anymore. On the other hand, is incredible that thru the movie all actors do their part with a straight face; is like they were born to play these characters.. and all wrapped in a beautiful photography. All desert scenes are just picture perfect, and could perfectly be taken as a still and be framed. The CGI, despite some comments, was really nice and convincing; and puppet effects were also adequate in a cheesy way that makes the movie be aware of itself. Is like they were breaking the fourth wall all the time, without actually doing it once.Is a great movie for what it is, and sorry it did not made you feel like you wanted to be the main character. Suck it up.

In this story three people go to a mysterious island called 'The land of lost'. There they meet a caveman called Chaka. They lost the machine to go back to the real world. So their adventure begins when they explore and go on finding the machine. It was funny adventurous movie. I have always seen serious adventurous but this one was good. Everyone watch this movie and especially I suggest people who are sad to watch this movie to laugh.

For fans of Anna Friel, Land of the Lost is bearable, the actress cavorting around in a small pair of red shorts and a tight vest, showing off her toned legs, occasionally bending over to give a glimpse of butt or cleavage; I can't imagine anyone else being entertained by this steaming turd of a movie, not even the most desperate of Will Ferrell fans (I don't usually mind the bloke, but here he's about as funny as a collapsed lung).Ferrell plays quantum-paleontologist Dr. Rick Marshall, inventor of the Tachyon Amplifier, a device capable of creating doorways to parallel dimensions. When he and pretty 'groupie' Holly Cantrell (Friel) test the machine, the pair are sucked into an alternate universe (along with redneck tour-guide Will Stanton, played by Danny McBride), where they discover ferocious dinosaurs, primitive apemen, and an advanced race of reptilian aliens intent on conquering the Earth.Based on a '70s TV series, the sloppy plot is meandering, mindless nonsense, the CGI/green-screen work is diabolical, and the whole affair is completely unfunny, despite Ferrell's best efforts (the actor coating himself in Hadrosaur urine and Tyrannosaurus poop in his desperate quest for laughs). Which leaves us with Friel looking hot and having her breast fondled. Which is something, I suppose
(and the only reason I'm giving this 4/10 instead of 1/10).

Pompous palaeontologist Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) makes himself a laughing stock in an interview with Matt Lauer. Three years later, he's approach by Holly Cantrell (Anna Friel) who has been following his research. They go an expedition to a mysterious cave which is run by Will Stanton (Danny McBride) as a roadside attraction. They get sucked into another world. They rescue Chaka who is about to be killed by other primitives. They eventually encounter the Sleestaks and escape to Enik the Altrusian. Enik explains that the evil Zarn is looking to take over the universe.I've got a feeling that people either wanted the old kids TV show or got tired of Will Ferrell. That doesn't stop me from laughing at some really fun gags. Comedies are the easiest to judge and hardest to explain. I laughed at this ridiculous parody. Therefore I judge it to be funny. I can't intellectualize the reason why. It's stupid and funny.
