Synopsis

Kerstin is a successful department head of a tax consulting firm in Berlin. She is respected and feared by her employees. Only one thing is too short in her life: for years she had no sex and no husband by her side. At the company, she wants to show that she can also party properly. The next morning, she wakes up in a hotel bed with two employees next to her: the hated opponent Simon and the "footman" Gregor. With the aid of her assistant Achim, she has lost all the memories of the previous evening. Her employees are forcing her to silence. Four months later, she realizes that she is pregnant and one of her nightmares is the father.

Reviews

Horst in Translation ([email protected]) The director and writer of this film have both quite a decent body of work, so it's a bit disappointing how this turns out. Nadja Becker plays an uptight (yet clumsy) career-woman who happens to lose control during one night and sleep with one or two colleagues. She was so drunk that she does not remember exactly and same goes for the guys. Of course she gets pregnant and now struggles to find out who is the kid's father. And if that is not already chaos enough, the paternity test offers another surprise. The only somehow good thing you could say about the film is that it's never really predictable (will they show us who is the dad? is it the stud or the nerd?). Sadly, predictability would not have hurt at all as it gets really absurd at times here. There is also a dramatic sub-plot involving the woman's mother, but it does not really add a whole lot. If you have seen "Stromberg", you will find a familiar face here and same goes for "Der letzte Bulle". Unfortunately, I am yet to see acting talent in Maximilian Grill. The only other guy I knew from the cast is the experienced Otto Mellies, who just won a German Film Award before making this. "Drei in einem Bett" does not even run for 80 minutes and you're not missing much here.
