Sometimes going camping might not be the best idea. Especially if you pick the wrong spot. The movie tries to be smart about the beginning and the setting and it does work for a second. But you will get what they do with the two parties at the beach in no time. What you make of it and how you react to this is up to you (that's if you like the editing). The acting is decent, but the movie does feel to be longer than it actually is. Not really a feel good movie overall of course, but you'd wish it would speed up a little bit. It's predictable overall which I won't hold too much against the movie. But it is dreadful in a bad way and it doesn't really add anything new. So as someone else suggested, there are way better entries, with similar topics that are way better

KILLING GROUND is another nasty, realistic, grubby little horror film from Australia in which the horror comes from man rather than a mythical creation. I don't know, after watching the likes of the WOLF CREEK films, this, and SNOWTOWN, you'd never want to visit the country! The story is about a couple of hikers who stumble upon a crime scene and are soon pursued by some very unpleasant characters. It's an obviously low budget story that suffers a little from some confused narrative touches (the mingling of past and present storylines early on is a bad choice) but generally works in a small-scale way. There's enough suspense to see it through, as well as some shocking and hard-hitting violence. The story gets more entertaining as it goes on and it all becomes tension-packed towards the climax. It's hardly a great film, but I'd say that it achieves what it sets out to do.

Surprise, surprise. The boys in the entertainment industry can't think up anything original to get under the viewers skin. When are these garbage directors going to realize that unless they're remaking Deliverance, sexual assault in film is only upsetting and grossing out HALF of their audience? It's not entertaining, or shocking, or bold, it's just boring at this point. Use your imagination in horror or don't bother directing at all.
