I am a huge fan of zombie movies, and I'm also a huge fan of "so bad its good" movies. This movie put me to sleep. The acting was horrible, the story was retarded, the blind guy was slightly amusing for a second. Please don't buy this movie. I had high hopes because of the title and the awesome picture on the front, hell I'll give anything like that a chance, but please avoid this movie. I can hardly believe this was even put in the same series as the other Zombie movies. It's not the same director, I'd hate to see this guys other movies. Try zombie lake, or maybe the original Zombi...Looks can definitely be deceiving.

In Louisiana, a soldier returning from Vietnam finds his wife in bed with her lover and he kills him, her and a couple of friends, but he is attacked by a bird and he loses his eyes. Years later, the bodies have not been found and the former soldier is the specialist in birds Dr. Fred Brown (Robert Vaughn), living in a house nearby the swamp. When a group of college students is assigned for a research of a woodpecker near extinction, they head to Dr. Brown's house to get some tips of how to find the rare bird. Then they drive through the swamp where they find the house where the murders happen and they decide to stay there. During the night, weird things happen and they are attacked by the victims of Dr. Brown."Zombie 5 Killing Birds" is a stupid, gore and messy collection of clichés. The acting is terrible and histrionic; the screenplay is imbecile with mistakes in the continuity; the soundtrack is annoying and inappropriate for a horror movie; and the sets are very poor. Indeed it is an awful end of career of Robert Vaughn. My vote is three.Title (Brazil): Not Available

(Killing Birds) Contains a bit of flesh, some gore. A group of college kids searching for an elusive species of bird end up at an old house that is home to some rather surly spirits out for blood... it all goes back to one of the kid's past where his dad killed the rest of his family. - - - Well, it's at least better than the past two Zombi "sequels," even if it's still pretty dreary. "Killing Birds" at least starts out decent enough and builds up a little atmosphere, but loses most of the momentum thanks to some terrible script writing. The background about the Vietnam soldier is handled badly and seeks to conceal a twist that's far too easy to figure out. There are a few gore moments worthy of remembering; however, the movie as a whole is going to disappoint fans of killer birds and zombies... don't even get me started on fans of killer zombie birds.*1/2 out of 4

Well, Fulci's follow-up to his original zombie masterpiece, Zombie Flesh-Eaters, actually wasn't bad at all for what it was - and even the rip-off After Death had its moments. But Killing Birds a.k.a. Zombi 5 has a complete lack of good points, and if it wasn't for the fact that it's been lumped in with Fulci's zombie films, no one would ever bother seeing it. This film is the biggest rip of the entire series, as despite being called 'Zombi 5', it was actually released a year BEFORE Zombi 4! How does that work?! The plot has something to do with bird watchers, a man who killed his wife (or something) and, of course, zombies. Nothing in this film comes together well, and it's all so amateurish that I had tears of boredom streaming down my cheeks by the end of it. Sometimes, a really bad movie can be enjoyable for the fact that it IS bad - but this one unfortunately bucks that trend by being so bad it's painful. The acting is uniformly terrible, with not a single cast member lifting it above the dreary tedium, and overall I have to say - even if you do like zombie films, this is one you simply have to not see.
