Intriguing at first, the film then becomes very confusing, and still leaves room for explanation by the end of the film. Dan Stevens features in about a quarter of the film. The rest of the time we 'see' him only through first-person mode. Why was it done this way? And why do we see messages as if watching through a mask? We learn more about the story by jumping backwards and forwards, but this is also very confusing, especially also since the action takes place in two universes. At times I thought I was watching 'Skyline' again. The film also played like a video game, rendering most of the action not very suspenseful or serious. What was Will Porter (Dan Stevens) actually doing for Alterplex? Yes, they needed him in case of emergency, but what was he doing for them in the meantime? Who made the drones and who operates them? Nope, I didn't enjoy this film, as it was too confusing and there were way too many loopholes. 'Skyline' meets 'Hardcore Henry'.Some visuals were amazing, though.

I'll start by saying there's nothing wrong with the acting. Acting is the least of this movies' worries, and that's kind of saying something. The way the movie was executed was extremely poor. Things aren't fully explained, and the movie likes to go back and forth between the two parallel universes as well as jump back and forth between past and future. (Which was completely unnecessary!)First person shooter POV was a horrible idea, but I don't think I need to add on any more complaints this movie has already received.Even the most action-y parts of this film were boring. I really don't suggest watching this unless you have nothing better to do. I'm an extremely lazy person but the movie was so bad that I went out of my way to write this review.

I think the only people that can like this movie are full-time gamers. Fans of the First Person Shooter games. Because Kill Switch is just like watching a person playing that game. I do like playing a game every now and then but I don't like watching somebody play because there is no thrill in that. Neither did I like this movie. It's taking boring to another level. I had to fight several times to not fall asleep. The story is not the worst, it's the execution that is really bad. The CGI's are also poorly done. A game looks actually better than this. About the acting is not much to say. The so-called star of the movie just appears in the beginning, for the rest it's just what he sees that you will see. Why they still shoot movies like that is a mystery to me. It never worked and it will never work. Name one movie that has been shot like that that has success. There are just none.

To say this film is one star I think that's being way too harsh. The film had a very interesting plot, that I wish had been executed better, and really nice special effects. Majority of the film is in first person, which I can understand how people wouldn't like that. I thought it was done okay but nothing special. The acting was decent enough, there are rough patches but nothing too terrible. The script lacked a lot that could of helped the idea the story was going with, which I really enjoyed. All in all I have seen one and two star movies and I believe that this one is a 4 star film... If you are bored and have an hour and a half to kill on a sci-fi movie then sure then is a good time killer for you.
