Kill Dil- 2014 Director: Shaad AliKill Dil finally arrived. It arrived in style or not ? Well yes ! Story is routine. What makes it different are the three men 'Govinda, Ali Zafar Ranveer Singh' !!! The dialogues however, were clever. Shaad Ali's Direction is good. Cinematography & Editing are superbly done. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is melodious. The poetry before every song is wisely done.Performance-Wise: Govinda was amazing- well who doesn't love the way Govinda laughs and threats the other person. Too Good. He delivered his dialogues in a very sharp way. He springs a pleasant surprise. He nails it as the villain.Ali Zafar was serious yet acted very well and his entry was Bang Bang with sniper in his hands. He will teach you how to be a true friend.Ranveer Singh is in terrific form, yet again! The talented actor enacts the love-struck young-blood with enviable energy & conviction. Ali Zafar supports Ranveer, wonderfully.Parineeti Chopra looks gorgeous & delivers a fair performance.

Disappointed hugely with this latest offering from director Shaad Ali (of SAATHIYA & BUNTY AND BABLI fame), made with such a lame attitude and casual writing, it gives me no energy to review it in details. So here is a brief account of what they showed us in their promos and what the film had in its 2 hours of duration offering simply nothing of that sort, ridiculing the audience yet again.Keeping a title inspired from Quentin Tarantino's cult classic KILL BILL, if you think they tried to follow anything related to that film in execution, storytelling or else, then forget about it completely since the film is not even interested in that.Looking at the exciting promos, if you are expecting a great time with the trio and a lovely lady enacting on a fresh script from the team, then you are gravely mistaken as YRF Studios have just rehashed their mediocre GUNDAY, converting it into a lousy love story presenting it as a new release, considering the audience as a bunch of dumb minds sitting in the theaters once again.Considering its unusual cast ensemble if one thinks Govinda is there to make a strong comeback then he or she is going to be hugely disheartened as despite making an honest effort, the veteran remains wasted due to the film's inane writing giving him a confused character, who enters the screen without any great build up and then suddenly starts singing & dancing like a professional performer ruining his own persona of a Don. Moreover, after a fine initial 30 minutes with Ranveer, he becomes stereotyped and takes away the major portion of the film ignoring the others. Ali Zafartries hard but seems to be misfit in the venture right from the word go. And Parineetihas nothing new to do in the film, so fails to impress with a completely seen before portrayal on the screen making no impact whatsoever. The film begins with a flashback exactly like GUNDAY, makes some impression in its first few sequences and then becomes so tedious to watch that I would like to rate it as one of those poor films that make your 2 hours in theater like a whole day spent there in the dark taking several small naps. Delhi is taken as the backdrop just blindly following the current trend and the dialogues even tend to become vulgar as the film progresses. The likable music loses all its charm due to its bad timings and average compositions. Plus the technical department fails to rise above the routine despite the background score drawing your attention in its opening. In short, I found only two things worth mentioning in KILL DIL. One the lyrics by maestro Gulzar and his mesmerizing voice-over used in few timely sequences. And two the innovative way of beginning the song Sweeta, with a radio commentary by Ranveer giving all the credits. But apart from these two insertions, KILL DIL simply deserves to be ignored and Shaad Ali really misses the train making such a terrible film, wasting a huge opportunity in hands. How could you do it Shaad
especially with Govinda? and
.. What are you doing Aditya with the Yash Raj Banner churning out such trashes?

Kill dil is the same old fashioned story which has been used several times in bollywood.Dev and Tutu are orphans who were nurtured by Bhayaji,a crime boss and now works for him.Dev falls in love with a girl.According to bhaiyaji love is like a barrier in this occupation. Now what will happen of Dev?Will he be able to get his love? For answer of these questions you have to watch the movie. The story is nothing new but screenplay is crisp. The chemistry between Ali zafar and Ranveer singh is very good. Both were truly awesome. They should choose better scripts to show their flair.Parineeti chopra had nothing much to do in the movie. No doubt she is one of the most talented actress of new generation but she has used in this movie as a fill up.Govinda was neither bad nor good. One liners of the movie were good.Climax of the movie has been wrapped in a hurry which fades away the influence of the movie.Music was average and direction was below average.Directors should think something new and make film on good scripts.Overall a decent one......

Okay, let me clear the misconception first that it is Gunday or Tashan remake. No it's not. It's a completely fresh story with amazing directions. The movie has got a beautiful touch of YRF and Shaad's directions have created a new magic throughout the film. It will remind you of the old and iconic movies like Bunty aur Babli, Saathiya. The movie doesn't flow in a very typical speed. The movie gets unpredictable in the second half. The movie has quite a good number of interesting twists to offer you. Songs, I think were not at all up to the expectations. Don't know where SEL went wrong. The songs should've been much better since the story is very strong and interesting. Speaking of the cast, Govinda has made a superb comeback. It's amazing to see the actor hasn't lost a single acting chop after so many years. Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar's performances were not as good. They unperformed. Dull acting. But Parineeti Chopra gave a powerpack performance. Like, seriously! As if parineeti was born to play the character 'Disha' in the film. Truly she has walked away. Not that this is the first time she has done such a fantastic job. But now, I think, she should break the stereotype and move on to try out different roles. I recommend to experiment urban, corporate, student role. Enough with the free spirit, Parineeti. Anyway, it's a fantastic film to watch this weekend. I personally loved the story! Habeb Al_janaby
