janice-200-473091 When I heard that this movie was coming out I was very excited to get the full story of an Australian Muay Thai Fighter. After the movie had finished I was even more excited to find that JWP was a regular guy who followed a dream. JWP and those who believed in him were so inspiring and moving. Dreams can be achieved, JWP's determination was exhilarating. It was wonderful to be able to ask questions after the movie. What a humble and down to earth person JWP is, that was truly refreshing! Thank you JWP for sharing your story. If Muay Thai interests you, then check out "Blessed with Venom". It is great to see an Aussie surviving and succeeding in a sport from a different culture. JWP I love your work.
melissaholmes-200-700732 Attending the Premiere Viewing of Blessed with Venom was a delight. John Wayne Parr's Muaythai Journey has been inspiring to say the least. A shining example of a very decent man and Australian Sport Star (8 times world champion) We need more just like him. An insightful Doco with raw emotion, brute strength, what hard work achieves, Honor and humility, with fantastic fight footage both past and present with insight into the hard conditions that Muaythai breeds champions from.Fight Fans everywhere will love it! As will believers of KARMA. Dream and you WILL achieve! I recommend ALL to go see it! You will come out feeling as though you got to know the man, wanting to achieve more for you and those you love and feel inspired! *John Wayne Parr = Australian of the Year!*
shas295 I saw this documentary at the Gold Coast premiere and was blown away. The cinema was packed and John Wayne Parr was there. He signed posters and posed for pictures for hours. The film is a look at his life and career and what an inspirational story it is. He is humble and gracious but with a fierce determination to win. We see his time in Thailand and meet his Thai mentor. We also see JWP in fight action and he is just so aggressive and courageous. There is just so much heart to this film. Funny, moments of sadness and thrilling success. I loved this film and so did the premiere audience. I also saw this film as a metaphor for life. No matter how many times it knocks you down, you get back up and keep fighting. I recommend everyone go and see it.
