Prashast Singh Movie: Jilla Rating: 4.5/5Vijay sir and his movies both are entertaining as usual. This time he comes up with Jilla, which is a cool, action packed, dramatic, emotional mass entertainer. If its about the story, then it is up to the mark. Vijay sir's performance is great as always. This time I got to see Mohanlal sir as well. He is simply fantastic. The action scenes are good and the background music is crisp. The film has a very good emotional quotient and will go down well with family audiences. After a very long, a film like Jilla has come.On the whole, Jilla is a cool entertainer that has entertainment dissolved in every frame of it. Watch it, then you would realize why I am saying so!
Ravi Kumar.S Vijay hates Police. But later becomes same police to beat his enemies. Nice Line. But its not that simple. Mohanlal has flashback too. Combining both stories is Jilla story ! Father-son relationship is story. Best part is, Vijay is Mohanlal's adopted son and that's very nice. Vijay always listens to Mohanlal but later when Mohanlal tries to make him do illegal activities, he is not willing to do it. Father-son fight is the interval portion and this is a very very good scene. Then how Vijay beats other enemies forms the rest of the storyI liked the comedy. Vijays comedy sense is nice. "Parotta" Suri is very good partner for Vijay. Kajal looks good. Foreign locales are also good. Fighting also super. Mass Film for fans and families. But I wonder when Vijay "Anna" will leave out "Thangachi" sentiment !
Anuja Iyer Full time-pass Thamizh film starring Vijay, Mohanlal, Kajal,Sampath, "parotta" Suri, Thambi Ramaiah, Mahath, Poornima Bhagyaraj. A multi-starrer of all sorts, the film boasts of a huge budget, colorful extravaganza and maximum entertainment. Vijay is the darling of the masses and Jilla went onto become one of the biggest films with record- breaking opening collections, upon release. The film recently celebrated its 50th day amidst much pomp and fanfare. Story-wise, it's a typical father-son equation going all wrong and the film deals with emotional conflict, proving to be an effective family entertainer. Direction is by RT.Neason and credit goes to him for handling two super-stars in an extremely effective and casual way, right in his second film. Cinematography is by Ganesh Rajavelu and Imman, who is the current king of melody, has composed five foot-tapping songs. Overall, an effective entertainer
Karuna Maheshwaran 300 films get released every year in Tamilnadu. And another 300 sleep in the box. With stakes so high, its not surprising to see Vijay playing to the gallery. Ironically, it actually has a good screenplay that plays down its values and lets the stars outshine itself. But, that's precisely why it garnered a record-breaking opening. Jilla has a backbone of a screenplay, with a few backstories thrown in efficiently. However, the typical hero steals the thunder from it and the crowd pulling elements dominate the depth. Director Neason has it in him to weave in both sentiment and entertainment appropriately. However, south being south, his hero steals all the attention from the story Jilla – Earth shattering Opening.
