Robert B. Parker was a master. Tom Selleck is perfect as Jesse. These movies are well made. But Parker was a dog lover. The ongoing theme of Jesse showing Reggie, the dog, no affection .......is bullshit. Pet the GD dog. Tell him he's a good boy. What the hell is wrong with whoever decided this was a good change from Parker's writing? The movie does Mr. Parker a disservice and the franchise should be ashamed.

I bought this DVD 2 years ago and today I finally got around to watch it.I re-installed my operating system and had to try out my DVD machine to see how it plays.I dropped this movie in as the rest of the operating system was updating.Wow...was this a total bore. There is nothing remotely interesting in this that can really keep a viewer entertained. Nothing leads anywhere and there is no suspense, action, mystery, romance, comedy or anything else. This is like watching water drip slowly out of a tap. It's so tedious and lame that I will be donating this DVD to my local library to deduct late fees. Not much else to write, just that this is so dreadfully bland that I'm glad I was doing something else at the time of this viewing, because if I wasn't...I would have certainly been very upset with my wasted time and the wasted efforts by those involved in this lacklustre film.

I've enjoyed many of the other Jessie Stone movies but I found this one to be lacking in a lot of substance. The plot does not get resolved in any satisfying way, and many of the characters lack depth. Even the storyline between Jessie and his dog does not materialize into anything. It feels like a lot of different parts put loosely together - his past relationship with his ex-wife, his co-workers marital problem, an unrelated string of brutal convenience store robberies, and the towns impending plan for the police department - none of these ideas felt resolved at the end. (except for the convenience store robberies, but this was dealt with in such a straightforward way and the bad guys were never heard from again. I guess they were just bad.) No regrets skipping No Remorse.

Warning:this review may contain spoilers... Outstanding entry in the series. It is also worth not that Mae Whitman also reprises her role as Emily Bishop although it is not credited here yet. It was a bit disappointing that a cliffhanger was built with regards to the town council meeting which was not resolved. I suppose that they will wait until the next installment to resolve the conflict between Stone and the town council. The rough justice dealt to the villain rang true and was a satisfying conclusion to the mystery. I find it really impressive that Mr. Selleck can bring wit and humor to a character which at the best of times can be best described as melancholy. Two thumbs up!!
