Serial killer Jack Frost has killed thirty-eight people and was only caught due to the bravery of Sherrif Sam Tiler. As his state execution transfer vehicle passes through Tiler's hometown of Snowmonton, Frost escapes by killing his guard and crashing into a genetic research truck. Chemicals from the accident cause him to melt and become one with the snow.Reports of a snowman killing people soon follow. And soon, the FBI sends Agents Manners and Stone to help get rid of the creature. That said, Jack Frost is on a spree, wiping out kids, their parents, cops and more. He even rapes and kills Jill, (Shannon Elizabeth, before American Pie) the daughter of an entire family that has been killed by Frost. So here's where things get crazy: the chemicals that transformed Frost were to be used to contain DNA in the case of a nuclear holocaust. He goes through every trap and wipes out most of the police, but oatmeal with antifreeze in it proves to be his kryptonite. Yep. I just wrote that sentence. This is one of those movies where the killer keeps coming back. And back. And back. It even ends with a reveal that Jack is still alive. To top that, the film was shot in seventy-degree weather, meaning that the majority of the snow and ice you'll see is fake.

Well, if one likes comedy and horror mixed with a holiday theme then this is a cute film to watch for the season. It's comical, corny but a cute film to watch - and yes it's horror so expect blood.I've seen this one before, glad I decided to watch it again... it brought a smile to my face and puts me in the mood for the upcoming Holiday Seasons ahead. Not a film that would win awards but can win hearts and smiles... that is what counts I guess. Just something about Jack Frost as a literal villain is quite funny!! 8/10

Vicious serial killer Jack Frost (robustly played with eye-rolling gusto by Scott McDonald) gets transformed into a lethal and seemingly unstoppable mutant snowman who terrorizes the sleepy small town of Snomonton. It's up to earnest sheriff Sam (a solid and likable performance by Christopher Allport) to stop Frost before it's too late.Writer/director Michael Cooney wisely doesn't take the gloriously ludicrous premise seriously for a minute, does a nice job of capturing a merry and vibrant Christmas atmosphere, maintains an engaging tongue-in-cheek tone throughout, comes up with plenty of choice cheesy one-liners for Frost to quip, and pulls out the sidesplitting stops for several uproariously absurd murder set pieces. Moreover, it's acted with zest by an enthusiastic cast, with especially lively contributions from Stephen Mendel as pesky fed Agent Manners, Rob LaBelle as nerdy scientist Stone, F. William Parker as amiable hardware store owner Paul Davrow, and Marsha Clark as feisty deputy Marla. The yummy Shannon Elizabeth has a memorably sexy role as luscious teenager Jill Metzner, who in the movie's single greatest and most gut-busting scene gets simultaneously raped and killed by Frost in a bathtub (!). Dean Lent's bright cinematography provides a neat colorful look. A real kitschy hoot.

A serial killer (Scott MacDonald) dies, comes back as a snowman, and wreaks havoc. This is one of the stranger Christmas horror films, and has a cheesy sense of humor. The snowman costume seems like the same costume that Full Moon would later use for Gingerdead Man. Although, out of respect, I should note the production quality here is better than what Full Moon does.I suppose today this film may hold the dubious honor of being the first role of Shannon Elizabeth (as Jill Metzner). So, if you want to see her before "American Pie", I guess this is the film for you.
