Kirpianuscus ...for a kind of mix who seems imposible. or absurde. or crazy. but who works. in impecable manner. because it is an embroidery- film. cliches, themes, motives. and a story about...bad luck. two guys. a house. a plan. and ...the chaos. all familiar. but in different positions. and that did it a strange seductive film.
Michael Ledo Short and cute. Two guys decide they want to rob a family at Thanksgiving. After much discussion the opt to wear Pilgrim masks and to use an ax. I smiled, wish it could have been longer.Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
Horst in Translation ([email protected]) "Invaders" is an American English language short film from 2014, so this one will have its 5th anniversary two years from now, maybe less depending on when you read the review. This little live action film is perhaps the most known work here by writer and director Jason Kupfer and in terms of the mix of comedy and violence here I would say there is a touch of Tarantino to it. It runs for 6 minutes only and this already includes a great deal of credits, so it's truly a tiny little film. But it is somewhat fun and also has plot developments that I really didn't see coming. A bit of a shame for the actors that you don't see a great deal of their faces in here, but this is of course crucial to the story. Overall, it is a thumbs-up of course and I definitely recommend checking it out. No potential for best of the year of course, but a decent little fun watch and almost a must-see for horror/gore lovers. Also a nice example of how tragedy can be fairly funny with the right approach and yeah final note that one moment when we see one character through the eyes/mask of the other was really a great camera perspective. Enough now. Go see it.
bob the moo I am not a fan of gore for the sake of gore; don't like it in any genre normally – and I think horror movies generally have become less and less interesting the more they focus on lingering shots of bloody violence and sadism. However, I actually really enjoyed this short film – which seems to use more fake blood than any other resource. The plot sees a Thanksgiving home invasion starting out with a debate over masks, and end up with something entirely unexpected. The first half of the short is witty in its dialogue and also some elements of the visual delivery. This sets a certain tone which I quite liked and made me feel like I was on ground that I knew. The second half was almost more enjoyable as a result of flipping this with a sudden moment of violence which is excessively absurd but yet funny. It is the type of short I really shouldn't like, but it is hard not to enjoy it for what it does and the manner in which it does it.
