andrezrodriguez OMG. This crap was sold in Venezuela like the panacea of movies when, in fact, is an infectious piece of sh*t. First to all, an individual like the main character, who is ugly like a cancer, is able to be a Latin playboy in Mexico. He hits a bunch of Victoria Secret models like to breath. Ujum. Very credible. Then, he is able to walk to the Mexico-U.S.A. Border like if were his house. To Cross the border is a piece of cake. Aja. After that, the director shows an scene of children manslaughter like a funny thing. Another fail. And the whole thing is a Soap Opera!! OMG Why the director did this like a movie!! Don't be fooled. Don't see this Ego-trip if you don't wanna feel you scammed.
ehannah243 I laughed and I cried. The actors were sincere and believable. I don't want to include any spoilers but I cried several times throughout. If you have children or a heart for them and have ever triumphed over huge obstacles in your life you will probably claim this movie to be one of your all time favorites. The father is dedicated and facing huge hurdles upon coming into America in search of his babies mother. What happens next will touch your heart. The little girl is a fantastic actress she speaks perfect Spanish and plays her part perfectly, its hard not to believe the story is real. Even the absent mom makes you really feel the anger of her daughters abandonment from the moment she walks away. My emotions were really touched in every way possible. From love to loss I left this movie only wanting more. I would highly recommend seeing this movie.
biggrog This film actually grabbed me right from the beginning. I enjoyed the characters and they way the director built them into their roles. Without trying to sound like a blowhard ,because I know nothing of making movies or the direction of, this movie grabbed my attention held my attention, and brought strong emotion to the screen. Well done. With all of the garbage I see that people give tens to. This film deserved my ten. As someone above said , the on screen chemistry between Father and Daughter was so believable. This movie is a gem for the whole family. A great watch with no violence. Also with the way the judicial system works against males in custody cases, it was nice to see the Dad win custody in the initial court battle. Then for the ex to admit that it wasn't even his kid made you hate her even more. Again a great all around job.
mgarciber I have to start by saying I am Hispanic, but do not enjoy Spanish movies unless they are outstanding. Actually the only good Spanish movies I have ever seen are from Guillermo Del Toro with " Pans Laberynth and the orphan. But this movie made me remember about the movie " Life is Beautiful/ La vida es bella".It has humor and it is so touching. This movie makes you cry, laugh and it leaves a beautiful message at the end of all the fears we have in life and how to win the battle of life. I thought the little girl and Derbez were outstanding. At the beginning when I start seeing the movie I was like " What joke of a movie is this". But once the scenes of the little girl come in while she is potty trained, it catches me from that moment until the end. This is not a movie for Spanish people only, it is a movie for English speakers too. As I said, it is not for the jokes it is for the message it has and for the feeling you have once left the theater. It is one of those movies that leave you thinking like for a week. I even called some family members in my country in Colombia and told them " Hey guys you have to go see this".You will not regret seeing this movie, it is worth the 2 hours it takes.
