donhughes-08183 Superb film. It was clearly restricted on budget but they spent the money wisely and got something ethereal, human, fantastic and wonderful. Acting spot on. The best Neil Gaiman movie he was nothing to do with..I loved it, as did my wife. It moves quickly so you have to pay attention. But it rewards you if you do...
ThiefOfStars I must admit that when I first saw the trailer for this on Youtube the low-budget cinematography almost put me off. Almost. Fortunately, the premise alone intrigued me enough to give it a chance anyway. The story centres around an imaginative but troubled little girl called Emma who is under the care of her grandparents due to her mother's recent death and John, her grieving father's reluctance to face up to his responsibilities. In this world there are 2 inter-dimensional factions that co-exist unseen alongside the human world; the dream-giving 'Storytellers' and the nightmare inducing 'Incubi'. One night, after having been visited by a Storyteller, Emma's soul is kidnapped by an Incubi, simply known as 'Ink' who hasn't quite earned his stripes yet and needs her to use as a bargaining chip so that he can become part of the Incubi elite. In real life, Emma consequently falls into a coma and is taken to hospital but when John is still reluctant to come to his daughter's aid, the storytellers must work together to save her from the Incubi's clutches by helping John face up to his responsibilities as a father and Ink to realise his true identity. I think you will enjoy this movie, if like me, you are intrigued by subjects like metaphysics, dreams, time travel etc.; the scene in which the audience witnesses how the Storytellers manipulate the events that led up to an earlier scene in the movie which results in John being in a car crash and having to be taken to the hospital where his daughter is lying in a coma had me holding my breath (if only because it visually depicted something I've thought about myself.) I'm glad I saw 'Ink' in spite of its ugly cinematography and I can tell it was a real passion project for its creators.
Kirpianuscus long time after its end, you are prisoner of a special state. it could be defined as emotion. but it represents more. it is a sort of new perception of world. "Ink" is an unique meet more than a great film. because it is the door to a different way to see ordinary things. because it is an adventure but out of ordinaries formulas. because it is one of films, more and more rare, who transforms yourself in part of it. a significant part. the end remains touching if you see again. the long trip of the characters has the same color and tension and flavor. and this is the detail who gives to it a special status. it is different. because it could be a story about its viewers.
nurulmac11 Firstly, the movie was so impressive and it changed things in my life. Somethings about to forgive... It's changed my opinions about good and bad people. One of the my favorite quote from the movie is "Because I choose to see you for what you were intended to be, not what you've become.". Isn't it so engrossing ? I think about this for a while and now I think being good is something about to struggle. Everybody has a tough life and it is not easy to be good all time. Isn't important to try fix somethings ?It reminded me the movie which is called "The Fall" I know the topic is very different but they are similar in a way. Maybe the same fantasy elements. I don't know exactly but I've felt some similar feelings. Hence, I think if you like The Fall, you will likely to like this movie too.Changind destiny scene is also similar to another movie which is called "Benjamin Button". There was a accident scene. And I think The Prince is Laplace's demon. He can change the destiny with just a little push but knowing all conditions which is effects to that situation.
