Blythe Danner belts out Cry Me A River at Karaoke in this film that there was talk would bring her an Oscar nomination. Where did that all go?As a woman bogged down in her life with the memory of a husband killed in a plane crash 20 years before, a dog that she just put to sleep and a bunch of wily friends living near her at a senior center, Danner seems to be plodding along as life is passing her by.Despite her resistance to resuming a social life after all these years, the retired teacher soon finds herself enthralled with a wealthy Sam Elliot who suddenly comes into her life, as well as a young man who cleans her pool. The film shows that resuming one's life is possible at any time; although, you had better look out for what can happen.Nice seeing Rhea Perlman as one of the ladies. When she asked for a beer, I was immediately brought back to television's Cheers.

This film was not funny. It's too slow moving, with too much air and malingering on weepy faces for that. All three laugh lines are in the trailer. The characters were not endearing. The dialogue was leaden. The acting was flat and hesitant, as if they were either going through their lines for the first time. At times is seemed like they might not even have had lines, and were just experimentally ad libbing their characters. Except, the dialogue they came up with was banal and ordinary to the point of embarrassment. The characters seemed awkward with each other, and in themselves. Mr. Cigarface, Bill, in addition to twiddling his prop cigar, projected character by having one eyebrow permanently, quizzically, cocked. With his walrus moustache, he came across a bit like chronically bemused Burt Reynolds, but worse. The cinematography at least made the film visually attractive at times.

This movie is all about living life. It takes you on a journey on how to look at your future self in a brighter light. Blythe Danner's acting skills were like always, convincing and smooth. I would recommend it to anyone who is in search of inspiration. It had the perfect balance between light-hearted comedy and drama. I liked how the story uplifted after the part where she loses her dog and returns back to an empty home where she sees the pool guy waiting. The story proves how life can begin at even 70. Well crafted and a joy to watch, I give it a 7/10. I would have liked it more if the side-roles were given a little more screen-play. Nonetheless, this sums up to be one of the best movies released in 2015.

Quietness, Simplicity (Love it so much!)It's different,I'm in 22, but when the movie started I was there! as if in 70 of my age, which I didn't know if I'll reach, I believe that I lived the moment somehow, the most thing I noticed and loved it in this movie is the quietness and Simplicity.. I was smiling in the lots of scenes.-------------------------------- Wonderful Movie Without A Doubt.9/10.
