Synopsis

A cop sets out to find a man who has been delivering too much of a good thing in this offbeat comedy. Police detective Martinez (Jesus Ochoa) has been handed a most unusual case -- a number of local prostitutes have been murdered, and it's up to Martinez to bring in the killer. What makes the case truly unusual, though, is the manner of death; it seems the hookers all died as a result of having orgasms so powerful they were literally fatal. Teaming up with cultural anthropologist Onofre (Daniel Giménez Cacho), Martinez hits the streets looking for clues, and eventually gets some unexpected help from Father Gorkisolo (Santiago Segura), a priest with a unusually deep knowledge of sexual matters. Asesino en Serio was the first feature film from director Antonio Urrutia; noted Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro served as executive producer.

lastliberal I have been viewing a few Italian sex comedies, and found this little gem - a Mexican sex comedy.Comandante Martínez (Jesús Ochoa - Nicotina) is investigating a string of murders where all of the women have a big smile on their face. They died very happy. What's the coroner say - they died in the throes of major orgasm! Outside of Ochoa, the main attractions of the movie are the extremely attractive women that get murdered. He does solve the crime, and manages to get rid of some problems with his new found luck. He even manages to perfect the technique to his everlasting advantage.
jotix100 Commander Martinez, a police detective, is puzzled when a lot of call girls appear dead in Mexico City. What really intrigues the experienced cop is that every one of women he discovers appears to be laughing at the moment they were killed! What could have given them such a happy death? Well, they all appear to have died from a heart attack caused by lethal orgasms!Antonio Urrutia, the director, working with Javier Valdes, who also wrote the screen treatment, created a light sex comedy that also satires other evil things in the Mexican society, like corruption, religion, and other issues. The best thing in the film is Jesus Ochoa, who plays Martinez with gusto. The film is mildly funny and while it could have been better, offers some fun for the casual viewer.
JCEFalconi Yeah, this movie may have some funny moments, but it really isn't worth it. It's like taking one of the early 80's Mexican sex comedies and then giving it a better budget and better actors. The movie may have been a funny light comedy if they hadn't decided to add a boring unnecessary sub-plot, and a friggin half hour of pure exposition. The only good thing about this picture is that while the plot is worthless, the movie really does a good job at making fun of Mexican society e.g. ; Corrupt authorities, bureaucracy, machismo, alcoholism. etc. Rating: In a world of numbers: 7. In a world of stars * 1/2.
