nikolar-70530 Not as half as bad if you are in the right mood for the kind of the movie as it is kinda refreshing after all the "great" comedies in the last few years as it's purely stupid fun.
tedkraan I now understand why there is a baseline test in Blade Runner. This robot is broken. It thinks it's a physician, a conversationalist, a preacher...Aside from the broken AI almost all the characters seem sexually frustrated. It also sports some typical stereotypes.. in the meantime the most interesting character is a SENATOR!! Now that's saying something!
reaseltbim The idea for this movie is not something new and has been done before but i watched this hoping they put a modern spin on this story, but i was mistaken. The story feels very "by the numbers" and there's no much that's different from previous movies of this kind. The leads are very unlikable and you really never feel a connection to them or really want them to succeed. The humor is not funny and comes off as rude and awkward. The movie could have explored the artificial intelligence and free will plot better but that is not really touched upon much. The movie rather chooses to focus on the teenage unlikable leads and their loser lives. There was a lot they could have done but they chose to do a movie like "superbad " with a robot instead. The robot herself and how she was learning was very interesting but she never develops a personality. The ending was kind of cliché and unrealistic. Comes out of nowhere because the friendship between the guy and the girl was never fully developed.
Neil Welch A highly advanced prototype female sex-partner robot, en route to a sleazy senator, falls into the hands of two teenage virgin nerds. Hilarity ensues. When I say "hilarity ensues", what I mean is that this teenage sex comedy has a complete absence of humour. And often, with unfunny comedies, you can see where they are meant to be funny but aren't: here you can't even see those moments. Also, like many such movies, it wimps out on the sex, too - the film is pretty chaste. And, while we're at it, it's low on teenagers...But I am mostly concerned with nerd Leonard (Zack Pearlman). We have skinny loser nerd Limus and fat loser nerd Leonard. Now, if you are a fat loser nerd - a fairly heavy burden to struggle through your teenage years with - why on earth would you add to it by being an aggressive A-hole fat loser nerd? This character was horrible - obnoxious and just plain unpleasant to be around - and made a bad movie much, much worse.
