Michael_Elliott Homicidal Maniac (2007) BOMB (out of 4) An average Joe finally snaps after all the abuse from his boss and because he catches his wife cheating on him. Soon the crazed Rick has three women tied up where all forms of abuse follows.HOMICIDAL MANIAC is an ultra low-budget horror film, one that are constantly popping up without the fanfare of what you'd get from Hollywood. I will start off by saying it's obviously not easy to get a movie made so the fact that director-writer Johann Tetreault was able to do so is a lot more impressive than someone like me just watching the movie and throwing out my comments. While you can applaud the effort that it took to get a movie made, there's really not too much entertainment to be had by actually watching the movie. Again, this wasn't meant to be a Hollywood picture and I'd be shocked if the budget was over a few thousand bucks. With that said, there's really not too much that happens outside of characters constantly talking about this or that. There's certainly no one in the picture that you actually care for and the second half of the movie pretty much just turns into a screaming match as Rick is constantly yelling at the women and smacking them around. There's no any gore effects, which I'm going to guess was due to the budget. I will say that I sat through the entire seven minute end credit sequence, which had to be the most painful thing as the title scrolls were just so slow. The thank you credits at the end were fun to read though and it's good that people are able to fulfill their dreams and get a movie made.
