amnaannie I believe the movie itself is quite interesting. I stumbled on it by accident on the tv and cannot seem to find it anywhere to watch. It's a kind of movie that one can either like or dislike, it all depends on the viewer's taste in comedy. For instance, this movie is all about comedy, maybe even a bit irony, but it's hidden in all those little lines, fragments that you either see or you don't. I personally liked it greatly and, along with my mom with whom I watched this movie, I laughed my heart out. If one would ask me, I'd say you should definitely watch it, but again I have to warn it is very specific kind of movie and if you don't like a lot of irony in a jokes in a movie, I suggest you pass this one.
Steven Ball Charlotte & Lyle (played by Shirly Brener & Joey Lawrence) are natural born killers. Charlotte doesn't know she is a killer but all the signs are there. Lyle is an "independent contractor" and kills people for a living. The two leads are funny (black comedy) sexy and dangerous. Rated PG so the violence is mostly implied. Unfortunately the major drawback is the cinematography - this movie looks like it was filmed on an I-phone. There is no information for the box office so I assume this went straight to DVD. In addition to the leads there are several other funny supporting characters. But the lead actors carry the film very well.
l-s-s-yarberry I love movies along the lines of Mini's First Time, Gambit, Love and Other Disasters etc… This movie fits in with them well. The characters are both keeping secrets,-her diary, -his job etc. but what makes it really funny is the added elements of her crazy parents and her reactions to everyday annoyances. Definitely loved the ending- very Mr and Mrs Smith in a way.I just wish they had used a slightly better camera for some scenes. This is the first Joey Lawrence movie I have ever seen and he reminds me a bit of Sean Patrick Flannery. His attitude is very humorous and his relationship with Shirly Brener is actually adorable (with lots of stuffed animals). Also the opening song to the movie For All I Care is from the album "Laura Slade Wiggins is Clementine". (The same as the actress Laura Wiggins on the TV show Shameless). It really sets the tone of the movie from the get go.
faddedblackrose Found this movie to be entertaining, however, be forewarned, it is an acquired taste. Only those of a particular sense of humor will appreciate it for what it is. This film has a decent story line with quirky comical twists. It is not like most movies you will see. This movie is balanced somewhere between what life is really like and what it could be like. There are mid-serious scenes, but they wear a coat of comedy. This film will seem to slow down at points, but give it a chance if the style and quality of the comedy is not lost on you. As a viewer, I believe this movie functions along the lines of 'what if' and 'why not'. This makes it more enjoyable for the audience, especially if they identify with the more realistic parts of life portrayed. This film delivers satisfaction with comical conclusions for daily life frustrations.
