Morbius Fitzgerald Highlander sequels have never had a glowing reputation. If I was to say it, there are only 3 Highlander films worth watching (Highlander 1, Highlander: Endgame & Highlander: The Search For Vengeance) and this movie makes them look like they should be in the Hollywood hall of fame. Before I start, let me say it is nearly impossible for me to rate something 1/10, I try and find something to compliment even if I thought it was crap (so much so that I gave Highlander 2 a 2/10).What makes this film so bad that Highlander 2 fairs a better rating? Everything that a Highlander protagonist has, Duncan(at least in this film) has not. Adrian Paul is a good actor but like Christopher Lambert is overshadowed by a really awful script that highlights him for no reason, "your impossible to corrupt", Yeah, Byee.Everything a Highlander fan will tell you about this is probably true, a priest with a blonde Mohawk, a guy that moves faster than the speed of light gets knocked down by a car, Post apocalyptic world where everyone can get enough fuel, red mist appearing and disappearing while inside a cemetery etc. There will be plenty for someone to criticize.Overall, there is no other way to describe it, this film is crap.
peyaluna I'm not even starting with countless goofs, horrible characterizations and bad acting - seems as if the actors too hated the script - but want to focus on the abysmal plot that is an abomination to all this fandom is made of. throughout every movie, the series and its spin-off it was clear, clear enough to become a modern proverb: there can be only one! its the sole reason why they are all carrying swords and frequently fight to the death after all. but suddenly, an unborn child shall be 'the one'?! that's making a mockery of the whole game. every fight there was, all the effort, blood and tears it took them to survive that far, all in vain and for nothing? just...no. The second movie is a masterpiece compared to this, and even endgame is better if you're really desperate.
stupidwizardproductions Remember when everyone freaked out over the Mass Effect 3 ending. Well, I have got a movie that destroys any sense of worth to the Highlander name. Hell, even Highlander 2 is a better movie than this. That is not a stand to take lightly because that is the archetypal bad movie and yet it is not the worst in the series. It did more damage to the franchise than Zeist. Let's begin the list of problems. One, the setting. Why in the Highlander franchise did they think the post- apocalyptic future? It's a fantasy idea. It is never explained what happened between the end of TV-show and this. Second, the plot. The Immortals need to look for The Source, which is like The Prize in the first film but makes no sense at all. For some reason they slowly loose their immortality has they move closer to it with explanation at all to it. There are so many problems with this movie. I don't want to list them because well this film is so bad I feel dirty talking about it. If you want to have punishment go and watch Spoony's review. Please do not watch. 0/10. The worst sequel ever made.
kelticrigby Okay you remember Adrian Paul and the cast from the old 1990's TV series? I admit that the TV series was corny at times but at least they tried to pull the story together in some way and used some good sword- fight scenes to spice it up.This movie is nothing like that, it has no real plot that you can follow. After watching it I am confused and appalled. It is ridiculousness beyond words for an established franchise. I have seen campy 80's horror movie sequels better put together than this.It starts out setting up what looks to be a tolerable story but after the first half an hour it fails to pick back up again. It gets worse, not only do they run around on some wild goose chase and throw random characters in without much explanation as to who they are, they use cartoonish special F/X. I and my sister ended up laughing all the way through it.As a Highlander fan I feel downright insulted by the disregard for quality in this film.
