silvan-desouza Suddenly many filmmakers are trying to remake old films Now this film also is the launch of Sooraj Panscholi son of Aditya Panscholi who was in news for Jiah Khan's murder in real life and Athiya Shetty daughter of Sunil Shetty. The film created hype due to Salman Khan being the producer but it was a flop. The film is a remake of Subhash Ghai's HERO(1983) which made Jackie and Meenaxi stars and it's music is still famous. This HERO however falters badly. The film has nothing to offer, the original was no classic either but was watchable, this is nothing great and comes too late. Direction is nothing great Music is okay, except title song sung by Salman Khan none songs are goodSooraj Panscholi has good physique and shows potential but needs to work on his expressions and dialogue delivery Athiya Shetty is okay in her debut, she too shows potential Tigmanshu Dhulia is wasted, Aditya Panscholi plays his son's step father and is okay rest are okay
altaf42049 The concept to introduce and launch siblings of veteran actors is not new to the Bollywood cinema starting from Kapoor's to Bachhan's and Deols and so on. But the the recipe does not prove right and successful every time. This recipe has not hold right for HERO of 'Hero' and Mr. Sooraj Pancholi (Son of Aditya Pancholi) is a fresh addition to the disappointment list. The movie revolves around a Kidnap cum love story sketch followed by parental disputes which are neither fresh nor attractive by any means like the old wine in new bottle. Sooraj has been brought up by Mafia King 'BABA'(Aditya Pancholi). BABA is in jail for murder allegations and IG Police is personally pursuing the case against him. BABA tasks Sooraj to kidnap 'Radha' (Athiya Shetty)the daughter of IG Police to level personal scores. Radha had already met with Sooraj in a club and was impressed by his dancing and fighting skills. Sooraj Kidnaps 'Radha' by pretending her to be a police official sent by her father for her security. She is taken to a snowy area where the love catches fire between them but soon Radha finds out the truth about Sooraj. She asks Sooraj to surrender to police and court and have a fresh start for the sake of their love. But this action is neither approved by IGP nor by BABA. Ultimately, Sooraj confesses in the court and is sentenced for 2 years in jail. In the meanwhile, Radha moves to Paris. After releasing from jail, Sooraj takes a fresh start and gives up his past profession. During Radha's stay in Paris, her brother lies to the family that Radha is dating his school friend 'Kunwar' who turns out to be a con and a gambler. Mr. Kunwar is on the run as he steals huge amount of money from BABA's Casino . While on the run, he meets Radha and On discovering the dating issue, he finds in it a God sent opportunity to seek protection from BABA. Unable to return the money, he broke a deal with BABA to bring Sooraj to him because he informs BABA that Sooraj is conspiring with IGP to arrest him so that he could win IG's Daughter. He did so but ultimately BABA finds the truth and Kunwar Sahab is killed in the action. BABA hands himself over to police and IGP accepts Sooraj. If you read and watch the whole plot, it cries out to be boring, ill-logical and clumsy. How easily a young, talented and smart hero has been wasted in an average movie is a question to be asked to Salman Khan. Moreover the casting specially the heroine, music and direction is sub standard. The whole scheme was bound to bite the dust and it proved nonetheless. An average movie with sub-standard direction and awful music.
Ajit Tiwari "Khota hai, par mera hai" Aditya Pancholi correctly said for Sooraj.'Hero' starts with a heavily tattooed Sooraj (Sooraj Pancholi) flexing his muscles and thrashing the goons, one by one or all of them at once. The villain also says "Hero ki tarah entry maarta hai, khud ko Hero samajhta hai kya". Now you can have an idea, what are you going to watch for next 125 minutes? It is the remake of "Hero" which made Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri stars overnight, it was Subhash Ghai and it was also 1983. Then the love story, dialogs, action scenes, melodrama and villains were not clichéd, but now these are truly are, but it has a soulful music. It has been three decades and we are watching same thing with different star cast, high voltage action sequences, a muscular protagonist and Athiya Shetty.Screenplay does not offer anything but clichés, cheesy dialogs, every frame is predictable, forced comedy and but it has some unpredictability too, that is the songs, because songs can come at whatever time. Nikhil Advani thought- "We don't have anything to show, let us insert a song" this way he has inserted six songs. Writing is poor and it does not give a scope for any character to behold the story.Sooraj could have done better if he had concentrated on his acting than musculature, he used all the screen time arching his muscles and doing death defying action scenes, at one point he escapes a bullet as a bicycle comes in front from nowhere. Athiya Shetty screen presence is bad and her acting too. Sooraj and Athiya speak Hindi doing a weird accent which does not exist, when we speak Hindi.Tuigmanshu Dulia has been wasted and looks indifferent, other casts have nothing good to do.I think Nikhil Advani was in haste as he has to release another movie too because his direction was really bad.Ctrl+Alt+Delete should be the name of the movie. Not recommended.
Tejas Nair Newcomers have a tough time staying afloat in the volatile entertainment industry. In 2020, when there will be no trace of either of the lead actors of this film, we can finally corroborate that the previous statement is, in fact, true. After he's done with his theatrics, heroics, and groovy dance moves, Sooraj (Pancholi Jr.) is assigned the task of kidnapping the daughter (Shetty) of the city's Inspector General (Dhulia) by his gangster-turned-politician father (Pancholi Sr.) on grounds of political vendetta. Soon idiotic dialogs encapsulate the drama that has the power to put off its viewers, because in here arguments turn into long-winded sessions of romance, and kidnappers fool around with their captive. Just because the original villain is the real life father of the so-called hero of the film, he's not sent to the gallows at the end. But worry not, because we have some random villains kicking the bucket. It is basically a love story where the characters use words like "calculate" & "alt+shift+delete" to describe the situations. You now know what you're looking at.Pancholi Jr. has a long way to go if he wants to stick to acting that is not solely driven by his toned body, and Shetty may want to check her options. Taking a French bath and screaming your lungs out is not considered acting. Dhulia is the only good man in the film which eventually drags the hell out to reach a point of stagnancy.BOTTOM LINE: Hero has a tried and tested story, but the actors playing the characters are like a bunch of toddlers who are yet to grow milk teeth.GRADE: FCan be watched with a typical Indian family? YES
