Here on EarthFalling for someone out of your social class is only acceptable if you're the poor one.If you're middle-class like the girl in this romantic movie, however, you get to choose. When affluent Kellie (Chris Klein) and the underprivileged Jasper (Josh Hartnett) crash their cars into Sam's (Leelee Sobieski) family's restaurant during a street race, both delinquents are ordered to repair the damages.Although she is seeing Jasper, during the reparations on her parents' place Sam starts dating Kellie for his intellectual prowess. Making matters more awkward is the fact that Sam is dying from bone cancer. With terrible performances across the board and a questionable motive at its heart, this maudlin teen love triangle drama from 2000 is more relevant today then it was 17 years ago. And still as cringe worthy.Smart move on her part though - latching onto the guy who can pay her hospital bills.Red Lightvidiotreviews.blogspot.ca

Here on Earth (2000): Dir: Mark Piznarski / Cast: Chris Klein, Leelee Sobieski, Josh Hartnett, Michael Rooker, Bruce Greenwood: Depressing film where girls left the theatre in tears. I cried too after realizing the money I spent to view the shame. Title regards a reality check although there is no proof that the filmmakers clued in. Mable's Diner goes up in flames after a drag race between two high school graduates who are competing for the affections of a female. Charges are dropped pending that the boys help rebuild Mable's Diner. Frankly I think they should have been forced to write a better screenplay. It is clear that Chris Klein and Leelee Sobieski will fall in love and that ex-boyfriend Josh Hartnett will stop acting like an ass. Dull and depressing with director Mark Piznarski doing the best he can. Klein is given an embarrassing scene where he gets drunk and talks to cows. Sobieski has medical problems and refuses remedies. Hartnett is tiresome and repetitious, and that accepting forced grin he gives at the end is enough to make you puke. Michael Rooker appears as one of the stone faced stern authorities making sure Mable's Diner lives again. Bruce Greenwood plays the standard Sheriff and that's about it. Nothing we haven't seen before. Theme of taking responsibility for your actions bypassed for a film so lame one suspects that the screenwriter wasn't here on earth. Score: 2 / 10

I absolutely loved this movie. I saw it for the first time today on ABC Family, and at first I was like, this is retarded, but I got drawn in. I really didn't like the music in the movie, but honestly, who cares when the movie was that good? First of all, Leelee Sobieski is extremely beautiful, and Chris Klein was really hot when he was disheveled. Josh Hartnett too. Then I loved the opening, when Kelley got the car. I had to go to the bathroom, so I missed a lot of the beginning. The intensity of this movie was extremely high, and then I almost cried at the end when she tripped and then she told Kelley she had cancer. And I thought it was extremely cute when Kelley was naming her body parts as states. I also thought it was cute when Jasper decided to give it up and remain friends with Sam, and when he told Kelley that Sam needed him. And also when Sam's father was sobbing because he was going to lose his little girl. The entire thing was extremely sad, and anyone who like a Walk to Remember should see this. I loved this and I would recommend this to all ages. I almost never cry during movies, but I did for this one.

This movie was great! I saw it last night on ABC Family. And it was amazing! It almost put me into tears. It was truly great. It was very similar to Nicolas Sparks novel/movie "A Walk to Remember" If you readers haven't read the book or seen the movie you must see it! The beauty of life and not taking it for granite was mostly the symbol for the movie. Sam found love with Kelley for a short time and it was worth it! Even though she died in the end, she lived a happy/loving life with Kelley even though it was short. I would love to find my true love. The movie will capture your heart. If your into chick-flicks.The moral of the story is (in my opinion): Live life, find love, and Bonzai!(Celebrate! In Japanese)
