Watched this with an open mind & had to say it was very very good, though not as good as Inferno, was & still is a great & epic sequel! The film centers around a man & his wife who have a car accident in they crash & go off into the river, he lives but his wife drowns & dies! But things starts to slowly piece together as it wasn't as simple as this man thought it was! He starts to lose his touch with reality & other things start cropping up in his life as after having a head injury he starts to remember things which actually happened, he even remembers the infamous Lament Configuration Puzzle Box & remembers opening up the gates to hell with Pinhead & the cenobites in tow!The film had a dreary & unsettling vibe about it. It was complex but easy to follow. Though it was a bit confusing here & there, I did enjoy it & found the revelations in this film to be pretty airtight until the big reveal. The effects were great as always, bloody & gory as they came! The story itself has some interesting things about it & also kept you into the story!Though it wasn't as good as Inferno it was bloody close to being on par! 9.0/10

I signed on with google just to review this movie.. stay away from it !Why ? I'll cut some slack and make this short. 1. Doesn't have anything to do with the other movies, other than Kirsty being in it. 2. 30 minute mark, and pinhead makes a 4 second appearance. 3. 50 minute mark, the box is briefly shown. 4. Every 2 seconds, the main character either a)gets a headache or b)has a hallucination that's not interesting in any shape or form. 5. Movie consists of main character having a dream .. within a dream, within another dream. 6. The whole movie was a dream. Don't waste your time. If you love Hellraiser, and pinhead, and Kirsty and people torn apart by chains, while having a coherent plot, watch the first 2 movies. Avoid the rest of them.

Following his wife's accidental death in a car accident, a man tries to uncover the truth about what happened only to find the cause of a series of violent hallucination a part of a much large plan of action. This here is a highly enjoyable and far underrated effort. One of the better elements with this is the incredibly deep mystery traveling throughout this, which is far greater than expected. Not only is the change of what actually happened quite shocking, how it goes about getting there is insanely inspired by building such a strong case for the husband to be responsible and how it changes that around into a secondary plot-point is a major strength here. This also ties into the film's biggies plus throughout her which is the unbelievably chilling and well-done amount of psychological tormenting going throughout this one. Unlike the previous effort which also tried to utilize the psychological aspect, this one outdoes that by making the whole thing come from the idea of twisting around the perception of reality by starting off one way only to twist them into a series of nightmarish visions or some kind of action that really shouldn't be doing that. That's an incredibly chilling tactic which doesn't get utilized all that much so being done in conjunction with the rather creepy and highly disturbing storyline trick which makes for a thoroughly enjoyable ale here and one which is highly rewarding and watchable throughout. Beyond the creepiness here, the film also manages to make due with some rather nice blood and gore for each of the kills in this, and there's plenty here with the deformed corpses and mutilation from the tortures making for a lot of fun. These are enough to make for a rather entertaining effort, though there's a few flaws within this one that holds it down. The biggest issue is the rather short screen-time the Cenobites actually have, which is barely a few short shots while Pinhead at least has a couple different scenes to work out. The other here don't even have that luxury which tends to make the impression that they're so irrelevant to the story they were written into another film altogether as this one doesn't really feel all that connected to the rest of the series. As well, the other big flaw here is the fact that the twist here involving the secondary twist makes no sense as for why it would be accepted knowing the past history of everything, and why they would is quite puzzling. Otherwise, it's all that's really wrong with this one.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Brief Nudity, and several clothed sex scenes.

Dean Winters, you know, who played Ryan O Reilly in HBO's OZ, and that guy from those pesky All State commercials stars as another unscrupulous character who must make his entry into hell for cheating on wife, Ashley Lawrence (from the first Hellraiser film). Overall, this installment in the franchise series is very much like the last "Hellraiser Inferno", but lacks depth or originality. Winter's character undergoes amnesia and must slowly put the pieces together of his former life in which he committed sinful acts that eventually lead him to Pinhead and the cenobites. Its a tedious venture that blends hallucinations with reality as Winters wanders around in confusion and persecution during his trial. Expect very little gore, few thrills, and no nudity. This is almost like a TV-14 rated episode of American Horror Story rather than a full-blown Hellraiser movie. It tries to redeem itself in the climax as Pinhead reveals Winter's memory and a plot to steal back the soul of Lawrence's character, but is inevitably predicable. Doug Bradly's return as Pinhead is profound as usual, but beautiful Ashley Lawrence is tragically wasted.
