Flashback 9 years back: when MASTI released sex comedies were hardly known about, yes we had Shaukeen which released in 1982 and some few more MASTI was very new and refreshing and people were shocked yet it worked, It also had a plot however hackeyened it may sound yet it had 1 It also was an amalagation of comedy and suspense Ritiesh was a newcomer hardly 2-3 films old while Vivek Oberoi had started going through a low phase while Aftab was struggling Now after 9 years they reunite with Grand Masti. Ritiesh has already done so many comedies and many worked, while Vivek is still more or less the same while Aftab is still struggling. However off recent after Delhi Belly, Kya Superkool Hai Hum have worked, comedies have become more raunchier more spicier following the feat of American Pie type films though much backward. Grand Masti is another successor to the earlier mentioned comedies The film has a skeletal plot but it is funny at many places, it does push the bar in terms of adult content though I must say it does get overboard and many scenes are too silly. The second half goes on and on,endlessly and gets tiringDirection by Indra Kumar is okay Music is decent, the songs are catchy Nice welocme back to Anand Raaj Anand and Sanjeev Darshan who make a comeback with this film. Dialogus are superbRitiesh Deshmukh has always been a safe bet in comedy and his name also shows first in the titles, he is simply outstanding Aftab Shivdasani follows next with a superb performance while Vivek Oberoi has improved in comedy but yet he has a long way to go, at many places he overacts Their chemistry together is amazing Amongst the heroines Manjari Phadnis is alright, while Karisma tanna is good, Amongst Rose Mary and Marlow(whatever their real names are) there are annoying Pradeep Singh Rawat is superb, Suresh Menon is funny

Indra Kumar has several hits to his credit namely Dil, Beta , Raja , Ishq and Dhamaal. Unfortunately, over the years the humor and comic sense has completely gone down in his films with Grand Masti joining the list of vulgarity and cheap jokes.Looking for blast from the past , Meeth , Amar and Prem goes for grand reunion of their college after 6 years hoping to have a pleasurable time. Things turns topsy-turvy when they get involved with Principal's beautiful family.A lot of expectation was riding high from Indra Kumar as he has successfully delivered masala potboilers over the years. However, Grand Masti is now-where close to double-meaning yet hilarious Kya Super Kool Hain Hum or fun-filled Chachi 420. The film boast of some silly adult jokes which you may read in your daily sms, newspaper or website. Worst is not over yet - Few scenes have been directly lifted from Austin Powers and our desi No Entry. There is nothing called screenplay in the film. Editing is horrible. Music is bad. Performance wise Ritesh , Vivek and Aftab are strictly OK.Overall , Grand Masti is a grand disaster. Few scenes do makes you smile but rest of the film is full of semi-naked girls, vulgar and double- meaning dialogs. Bad 1/5

GRAND MASTI is the sequel to 2004 hit MASTI although not related and not even half entertaining as the previous flick. the previous one boasted of some fine acting, a good story line and good music but this one is a let down in all the 3 departments. This one relies only on cheap and already seen adult humor. it is about the story of three friends Meet, Prem and Amar played by VIVEK , AFTAB and RITESH who are bored of their sexual lives as their wives (SONALI KULKARNI,KARISHMA TANNA & MANJARI FAADNIS) are unable to devote time for them. the three friends are invited to a get together in their college where they are attracted towards three women rose, Mary and Marlo (played by MARYAM ZAKARIA, BRUNA ABDULLAH & KAINAAT ARORA) who coincidentally happen to be wife, daughter and sister of the principal of the college (PRADEEP SINGH RAWAT). rest of movie is about the three trying to have blast at the college but end up getting in trouble. Most of the scenes in themovie are a direct lift off from various Hollywood movies, Americanpie, Ace Ventura, Austin powers to name a few. most of the movie hardly tickles the funny bone though a few scenes do evoke laughter but in pieces. the first 15-20 minutes are really enjoyable and the starting bank scene is best. performance wise the male actors are OK . Aftaab has made a desperate comeback which is visible clearly in his acting . Ritesh Deshmukh is good while Vivek is average. Sonali, Karishma and Manjari as their wives are OK. the other three actresses are a huge disappointment and irritating sometimes and are only for glamor quotient and skin show which they do. Pradeep rawat has tried his hand at comedy for first time and does good job . Suresh Menon, i feel has been wasted. music is poor and songs seem forced in the plot. On the whole this is a no-brainer served with a heavy dose of vulgarity, no plot and a clichéd climax although a few scenes do evoke laughter. a one time watch but recommended only with friends.
