Synopsis

Sriram Venkat is the most shallow guy on earth who doesn't value relationships, family, friends, life or the country. Not necessarily in that order. Because he couldn't care less about the order. This makes him the clear 'black' sheep of the family.

Arup Ghose As soon as I saw the casting of this film, it immediately reminded me of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which I didn't like whatsoever, and unfortunately even though Gori Tere is better, it is not that far better. Kareena is a seasoned actress and should seriously consider some more tasking roles. She plays the role of Dia with ease, but her character is just becoming too common and predictable. Imran Khan is getting better and better with every film, and here he delivers a solid performance with some good comic timing, and decent romance with Kareena however he still lacks true hero material! Like, you can't put him in the same comparisons as Ranbir and Ranveer anymore. Shradha Kapoor is pleasant and is very likable in her role. It's great to see Anupam Kher in a negative role after so long and as always, the legend delivers a perfect performance. Overall Gori Tere is just average and nothing more. It lacks real content, and the story is way too predictable. The music is good, which does help the films cause however is not enough to save a sub standard film. My rating of 5 is more towards the acting performances than the script.
Ketan Gupta Rom-com flicks are one of genre which has not been experimented in Bollywood much lately. Gori Teri Pyaar Mein is refreshing change for Indian audiences who have witnessed an overdose of masala films in 2013.Sriram Venkat(Played by Imran Khan) is good-for-nothing architect working in his dad's firm who has no respect for any relationships. Dia (played by Kareena Kapoor) is a social crusader who wants to help the needy. They fell in love only to break-up. However, Sriram travels to a remote village to build a bridge for the local people to win back his love at any cost. From the director of "I Hate Love Story", Puneet Malhotra does a fine job in trying out something different. Though the love story is predictable, it is the treatment of subject that makes it set apart. The first half is hilarious, fun and has moments to remember. Second half begins with a bang but the climax makes it a spoilsport. How I wish it could be handled with maturity and overall it would have been a good rom-com to watch. Screenplay looses the steam and insertion of songs breaks the momentum of the film. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is a let down. Cinematography is eye-catching. Art direction is good. Dialogues are believable. Kareena Kapoor is the eye-candy of the film. She does an awesome job playing the social activist role with aplomb. Imraan Khan is good but still has to work on his expressions. Overall, I liked the film and found it to be surprisingly fair entertainment. Good 3/5
sujath2807 Yes i saw the trailers and yet i went to this movie, i knew how the movie will be. It was a treat from my friend so i went anyway and my friends are big fans of Bollywood movies, Hence GORI TERE PYAAR MEIN.I am sorry to say this but Imran you don't have what it takes to be the leading man in the movie. I remember seeing your movie JAANEY TU YA JAANEY NA that movie was plain awesome and so far i remember you solely for that movie. When i see him on the screen acting i don't see him loosened up he always seem to be in his reservation, i never saw him loosing himself in the character. He seems uncomfortable and tight just like his dancing, i really don't care for the actors who don't know dancing but they should be able to act. I don't believe a word of it when media says that imran is very closely mentored by amir, if he is mentoring him then he must be conspiring his Bollywood exit. Jaane tu ya jaane na was a romantic comedy and it clicked and imran very smartly did not want to associate himself with one genre of movie and moved on to do serious and different roles which he failed at, whether its bad luck or he is not talented enough. Eventually he came back to doing Romantic comedies and after his back to back flops he has delivered yet again a flop movie and i feel its time that imran accept and move on from his acting career. Its unfair to see him getting offers with big banners and opposite big heroines in spite of delivering back to back flops, everyday talent is exploding with new comers entry into Bollywood if only producers give them a chance rather than casting actors upon influence. Sorry about my Ranting for Imran, now coming to the movie. Film started on a good note but lost its track in the second half, the concept was fresh but the story was about a boy and girl from different communities and their disapproving families(Nothing new here) in spite of Imran's average acting i liked the first half of the movie as it was paced. But right after the intermission it just went down and down, director and writers just realized in the middle of the movie that they can deliver a social message on a much bigger subject rather than a romance story and then they just turned the movie in to completely different direction and forced us to watch a much much dramatic second half. I was embarrassed to sit in the theater to watch such level of drama, the scenes were so melodramatic i felt pity for the actors that they had to go through that . I felt if you wanted to make such a movie why not make two different movies each dealing with individual topics rather than confusing and boring the audience and making them pray for the movie to end. I am sure when they sat down to write the story they might have though to themselves that they found the love story of this year but it wasn't it. the directors vision just did not reflect in the movie. Kareena is drop dead gorgeous in this movie and she is a marvelous actress but sad to see her doing such a movie that to with an amateur Imran, this is the story of actresses in Bollywood. Talented actress have no choice but to work opposite young and talent less actors. actors such as the kings, badshaahs of the Bollywood will only work opposite young and fresh faces (Disgusting). I give this movie 4 stars solely for kareena and for the first half of the movie. The music of the movie is forgetful and i was not blown away with the cinematography or anything. Humor is very dull and i don't even remember supporting cast's performance. I will not stop you from watching this movie, do watch it if you like too much of drama.
Aman Lamba Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is a full on Masala movie, RomCom as you can say. It has got some nice comic moments. Kareena Kapoor Khan is beautiful and has played her role well and so does Imran Khan this time. Its a One Time watch and enjoyable. Songs like Dhat Teri Ki will make your feet tap and Peppy Songs like Tooh and Chingam Chaba k are nice. Anupam Kher as usual has done exceptionally well with his role and makes him one of the reason to watch this movie. The serious moments in the movie have been played well by the actors. Punit Chopra directs the movie well and displays the village Jhumli very nicely. Eventually, you will enjoy the love story in bits and pieces.
