FinneganBear Creepy stalker boy meets unfriendly girl. Girl inexplicably lets boy move into her apartment provided he keep his distance and endure her verbal, emotional and sometimes physical abuse. He lives there alternating between pouting, yelling and insulting her. The film is well acted but the setup is not believable and the characters are annoying and unlikeable. The final 5 minutes explain the girl's behavior but too late to make the previous hour and 20 minutes worthwhile.

As a result we have a nation of aggressive women who hate, use and abuse men and dopey weak men addicted to porn and afraid of women. Women are angry and men are ashamed.Misuse of sexuality has turned the nation into something unrecognizable forty years ago. Women have become pushy, bossy and encouraged to get what they want while men have been been demoralized, degraded, and diminished by culture. We are so confused now we elect a cunning, manipulative ah**e who promises us what we want while lying to us about what we really need and what he is really doing to us. That's why movies today are mostly c**p - messed up people only enjoy messed up movies. It's all about good witch vs bad witch - they are all witches! If you put morality in a movie in any form today people flame out because decent people embarrass most of us.This movie in an imperfect way is about right and wrong. The Jason Ritter character tries to crack the woman's shell by not using her and being strong with her irrational behavior (re My fair Lady). It does the trick since this is something no man has ever done for her before. Her resulting catharsis leads to her turning against her father for independence. Whether the ending of the film could happen in real life is doubtful since couples are more likely to end up beating on each other and taking drugs then breaking up completely. Still the movie is important and should be seen by more people. Movies used to be about right winning over wrong which made them ring true. That is what makes this one so enjoyable.

garyml I came across this film by accident. A very fortunate accident for me. The characters and the plot were very believable. I am a retired police officer having worked in the NYPD and in Colorado. I have met people like her and have spent a lot of time dealing with their issues. I was glued to my TV and when the film ended as I had watched one of the best films ever. The main plot was very well developed along with two or three sub-plots involving other characters. Culver City is filled with a lot of pseudo-intellectuals who all believe that they are somehow film experts and filled with all sorts of wisdom about life in general. This adds to the great direction as the viewer is watching life in that community as the main characters are developed.

cupkate35 i have to say i was way more excited for this movie then it delivered. the preview made me feel excited and all awe inside but it wasn't as adorable as the preview. yes there were some parts of the movie that made me laugh a ton, and think 'cute' but it was because it was so weird, literally all of the movie was an eyebrow raiser. at the end of the movie you understand why on a weird scale shes a lot worse then he is, but they are both strange, its just more accepting for him because hes just a socially awkward ex junkie, however at the end you understand why shes so tortured and bipolar. its a movie that i think was a good reality, a gritty romance that shows you that when you love someone you know, and you don't scare easily, then i would recommend watching this movie.
