glennataylor If you watch this movie you love really really bad movies with no plot, really really bad "actors" sorry to real actors. I'm not sure it actually qualifies as a movie. it is sort of a conglomeration of really ugly, really flat, really fat, really horrible "people" that think they act. The only girl that is actually somewhat almost not ugly is so dumb that it makes her horrid attempt at acting almost tolerable, the rest are so bad, so ugly, so stupid and so pathetic that there are really no reasons to watch this abortion. The "lead" actress is so nasty, so ugly and so bad that anyone that would actually "sleep with her" is gay. She resembles a man much more than a woman.
GL84 Going to a small, isolated house for spring break, a group of cheerleaders trying to have a girls-only weekend find their activities halted when a masked madman arrives looking for retribution against the girls for their perceived promiscuity and forcing them to fight him off to survive. This here turned out to be quite an enjoyable and entertaining effort that has a lot going for it. One of the biggest pluses is the fact that, as a slasher comedy with comedic touches, it would've been painfully obvious to try to make the killer a rather weak and almost joke-like individual. This really could've been a hammy one-liner spouting joke for the most part, but that's thankfully avoided here with the killer being kept to a threatening role and only appearing to dole out a quick death or initiate a chase, and with the striking mask and choice of weaponry used it creates some powerful images at times in terms of being an imposing figure. Coupled with the nice reasoning that they give here for why they're engaging in such a killing spree all gives this quite an impressive killer. That leads into the film's best aspect, the high amount of slasher action featured here. The adult video shoot massacre is great with all the flailing body parts featured in the rampage, containing the slaughter of the video crew and several of the models, several of the briefer inserts of the killer striking some of the outer members of the group in remote locations. The last half is also rather interesting with the killer striking them throughout the darkened house as the gradual rise in dead bodies found in the different rooms is quite well-done offering up some nice atmospheric touches and the confrontations start getting more and more intense, revealing some nice twists with the revelation about the killer's identity alongside the fine chasing and making this quite enjoyable. Alongside with all the nudity and gore featured it makes for an attractive addition to the movie. The main problem with this one, though, is a common feature in many of these hybrids, where the comedy here is just lame and not that funny. Ranging from jokes about religion to overweight individuals and how drunk they are, it's quite lame and tiresome to see these lame styles of jokes repeated over and over in these types of films so their use here is completely aggravating. As well, it tends to run a tad too long with several rather unnecessary subplots that serve just to add bodies to the fray, but overall it's not too bad regardless.Rated R: Continuous Nudity, Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, frequent alcohol use and mild sexual activity.
gary_siegel40 Originally I purchased this DVD after hearing about it on the Howard Stern show. I have been a huge fan of Beetlejuice for over a decade and figured.. why not? Little did I know... Girls Gone Dead was an amazing film and exactly what is MISSING from movies today. As an 80s kid growing up, I loved the old silly horror/comedy movies. Slasher flicks with T & A that never took themselves too seriously. This is exactly what I found with Girls Gone Dead. The story is fun, the girls are beautiful (and topless often), and what an interesting cast! Beetlejuice, Ron Jeremy, and WWE wrestling legend Jerry "The King" Lawler?! The film's lead and drop dead gorgeous (no pun intended) Katie Peterson did a fantastic job with the role. I swear I laughed a lot and had no idea who was doing the killing. Check out this movie! What beats hot girls, bloody gruesome killing, hot girls (again), and BEETLEJUICE! My favorite film of 2012.
johnmorghen Another slasher film, you say? Yes, it is... but, it's much more. The teaming of director Michael Hoffman and writer Meghan Jones-Hoffman deliver their slickest work to date here, presenting an amalgam of slasher horror, sex comedies and jabs at contemporary culture... with bite! Personally, I dig that sort of thing. Here are some of the high points for me:1) Sal & Beetlejuice are worth the price of admission alone (check their behind-the-scenes antics in the DVD supplemental, as well).2) Katie Peterson in the lead. Peterson has a lot going for her and reminds one of vintage Nicole Eggert... which is a definite plus.3) Newcomer Shea Stewart. Is this really her first film? She puts the 'pretty' in pretty damn good.4) Major kudos to Marcus Koch for providing some truly impressive special make-up effects.5) Jerry Lawler giving his finest performance since his days with Andy Kaufman.5) And, last, but certainly not least... Nicko McBrain croons country! With elements like that, you just can't lose.Give it a quick lick and make it stick!
