I saw this movie when I was 10 and I really found it funny. If you are a kid then you would love it but if you are an adult maybe not so much. But in all fairness, I like this movie I have seen it like 10 times as a kid. Even though the one thing I am not really a fan of is Garfield and Erleen/Eileen (sorry if I am getting the name wrong) relationship.

I could not stand this movie. It is easily the worst Garfield movie of all time. I wouldn't have even starred it, if not for Garfield. I absolutely hated the theme, the "surprise" was totally uncalled for, and the animation was worse than even "Gets Real". I won't reveal what the surprise was, but let's just say it's something that a 3-year-old would think of.My 8-year-old sister hated Fun Fest. She said it missed what Garfield was all about, and she's the target audience! And since I, a teenager, dared to watch it, I have much more to say.Where's the philosophy of being lazy? Gone. In its place is a dumb talent show. Garfield in love with Arlene? The buck-toothed beauty always had a love-hate relationship with the fat cat. Although I enjoyed finally seeing a real female lead in Garfield, she was a far cry from the sarcastic and smart Arlene-in fact, more like Penelope from "Garfield 'n Friends", also a love interest of Garfield's.Garfield competing in a talent show? Garfield thinking he's not funny enough and going on a mystical journey to find "funny water"? Ramon?! Definitely something for a true Garfield fan to skip, unless you're REALLY devoted. It departs too far from what Garfield is really about, and it may shake your belief in PAWS. And if you're still planning to watch Pet Force, the upcoming special, I ask you to go to your local Blockbuster and check out "Here Comes Garfield". Still going to watch it now? Then you must be like me-really bored and looking for something to pass the time while the library gets your latest copies of MST3000.

Sorry my grammar, this is my first comment here in IMDb. I believe that I do not make here a spoiler but by the way I check the "Contains spoiler" options. I apologize if I make a mistake. Some cartoons must not migrate from 2D to 3D. This is one of them. Also now when John can understand what Garfield and friends talk, some of the magic is lost in my opinion. I don't remember that Garfield move his lips to talk. Now he do it. The 3D environment isn't bad, if you see it just a graphic designer view, but if you see like a fan or simple viewer, is totally different. I don't know what but something is lost with this new environment. The story isn't bat too, have greats ideas and moment. The classic Garfield humor isn't lost too, but I repeat again, also the new 3D environment, the lips movement and the ability of humans to hear, understand and talking with Garfield and friends must change the original magic of the cartoon, in my opinion of course. The most important issue here was the 3D environment i guess. The story is good really, behind the scenes (of course everybody talks and understand others) but, I insist (sorry for that) part, big part of the magic is the 2D animation. Do you think that The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy and others would be successful in 3D?. I don't think so. I know that all cartoons, even in 2D are making with computers but is not too "obviously" like 3D, even Futurama. I have the same opinion that adb-36, this is a stone in the road for Garfield. Even the movie with real actors be more than this one. Well, that's all I have to said about this movie. Please sorry my grammar. Regards from Lima, Perú

I must say I am a fan of Garfield comics. I also enjoyed the Garfield and Friends Saturday morning cartoon..... This movie has none of the charm. Here's the problem. Garfields sarcastic, snide comments and attitude are not fitting for a children's movie. The dialog and environments don't match at all. In one minute of video, they have bubble blowing cars and brightly colored scenery while Garfield tells his friend that he "sucks".... I don't teach my kids to talk that way at the age that this movie is marketed towards. What were they thinking? The new imagining of Garfield stinks, every movie has bombed and so is this stinking pile of mean and unfunny dialog, with tacky scenery and character design. Just 90 minutes of humiliation towards the characters.Skip this movie...... And please, don't let your young kids watch either...Zero laughs....Horrid.....Only one good point... the CG is clean (but isn't anything amazing). I'm trying to retain a balanced review.
