sinifdosyalarih This is my first review and i just opened an account just to warn and save other people.A predictable roller-coaster ride with very few decent scenes sprinkled in. The film has some points about marriage but tries to make those points through exaggerated shitty relationships. In the first 30 minutes I thought this would not be a mainstream romantic movie but it disappointed me with an extremely linear and ordinary story. Not recommended for anyone to watch, save your 2 hours for any other movie.DO NOT WATCH!!!
bjarias There should be an award for 'Can Do It All'.... writer, producer, director, star. And should she not win, it would have taken one hell of an effort to best her. With immense talent matching her beauty, Jennifer Westfeldt .. bit.ly/1aFOGRy .. is one very impressive individual (and watch her in Ira & Abby to get a better idea of the range of her acting ability). Friends with Kids is a film for grown ups that is really enjoyable to watch, and it's one of the best films I've seen in quite some time (with one of the best ten minute endings of any romantic comedy/drama). You can watch a whole bunch of rom-com's and not enjoy near any as much as this one.
SnoopyStyle Jason Fryman (Adam Scott) and Julie Keller (Jennifer Westfeldt) are best platonic friends. They always joke around and have a long history. They are the quintessential single New Yorkers. After four years, their friends Leslie (Maya Rudolph) and Alex (Chris O'Dowd) are living in Brooklyn with kids. Their other friends Missy (Kristen Wiig) and Ben (Jon Hamm) also have kids and everybody is fighting. Married with children seems to mean grumpy with responsibilities. Jason and Julie want kids but not the anger. So they decide to have a kid but not the relationship with each other. Jason is dating Mary Jane (Megan Fox), and Julie finds Kurt (Edward Burns). The question is how would they make their modern family work. There are some funny moments. The premise is set up for an alternative rom-com. While I applaud trying new approaches to a traditional genre, there are a lot more awkwardness than comedy. It is uncomfortable and I'm not sure how much truth is in this movie. It feels very fake. I want to like this more. I like the cast. I like some of the jokes. The most important aspect of a successful rom-com is the chemistry. The joy of most rom-coms is watching the development of the chemistry. In this one, they start off with assumed chemistry. Then the addition of two credible people into the relationship does interfere with the relationship. In general, the movie needs more time with the two leads falling in love by themselves without other people. The whole thing feels a little bit off.
KarenSantaFe I found this film to be surprisingly entertaining and well-done for low-budget fare. The performances are quite respectable - my beef is more with the lighting, and some bumpy editing. But who cares? I was entertained and engaged by both storyline and performances. The scene towards the end where he kisses her, hard, against the wall.... Well any even partially heterosexual woman will tell you, that is HOT! There are funny scenes galore here, and a fair amount of non-verbal funny, which I particularly enjoy. Pop up some popcorn, put up your feet, and lay your inner film critic down for a nap. Odds are, you won't regret it.
