Worst piece of garbage I've wasted my time on in a long time.
Absolutely unintelligible dialog,
Shaky, nauseating AMATEUR hand-held camera work.
We only watched maybe ten minutes of it and decided we'd both had enough
of the TRULY AWFUL camera work.
It's NOT "arty", it's NOT "cool", it's just shaky AMATEUR camera work and it's GARBAGE by any metric.
Grow up, get a dolly or a tripod, pull up your big-boy pants AND HOLD THE CAMERA STEADY.

The whole movie felt like the best bits of Doom and Wolfenstein characters rolled into a 'found footage' movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, the action cam effect works great in a movie such as this. I was looking forward to what new creation was around the next corner, they are so well done. If you know Wolfenstein's premise then you know that a lot of the creatures in it are lab experiments that were created for Hitler's army. Undead zombies and creatures that have guns and cutting implements molded to their arms and torsos. Lots of blood and gore to please everyone! Enjoy it for what it is, entertainment, both humorous and dramatic throughout and an overall solid presentation. One to watch a few times to appreciate the effort gone into the gorgeous detailed monsters.

The overall thought behind the film is great and many of the actual 'zombots' were incredibly thought out. They appeared very realistic and made me jump on a few occasions which is exactly what you would expect when taking the genre into consideration. However, the execution and final result did not live up to my expectations. After reading many reviews I was excited to watch this film but I found it to be very mediocre and lost interest on many occasions. I couldn't stand the way in which it was shot as it gave off a very amateur effect. More suitable for people who like to watch basic films that don't require a lot of thinking. I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone and would have to be pinned down to watch it again.

One in a wave of Nazi zombie films to come out in the past decade, FRANKENSTEIN'S ARMY is a deliriously insane slice of B-movie film-making. The plot is as simple as anything, but what this Czech film lacks in intricacy and subtlety it more than makes up for with its sheer visual inventiveness. This is another 'found footage' movie which follows a squad of Russian soldiers trekking through east Germany in the dying days of WW2. They soon come across a seemingly abandoned complex which turns out to house a mad scientist and some decidedly odd creations. The zombies in this film are some of the most creative ever put on film, and the camera-work and music make them into fearsome creations. The acting is nothing to write home about, aside from another solid turn from stock bad guy Karel Roden (HELLBOY), but the technical values are very good. The creations are the best part of it, of course, but this is also an extremely gory film in which the blood and body parts flow freely. It sure as hell isn't high art, but it is viciously entertaining and thoroughly engrossing for what it is.
