Great acting, great adaptation. I'm not American and I learned a lot about American history by watching this movie. To me it's not just a love story it's a historical document intertwined with fiction which would be the main character's intervention in all situations.

In whole, I have seen this movie 5 times. This is one of the great movies of modern times, and it's beloved by many. As someone on the autism spectrum, this movie speaks to me more than it would to others. Forrest, despite having a low IQ, graduates high school, fights in Vietnam, witnesses the Watergate scandal, marries his only love, and makes many more accomplishments. While I don't expect to do most of that, it holds hope that I can be just as important in the world. That alone makes it worthy enough for me to give it 10 stars!

If you want to watch a movie with some of the best facial expressions that are actually accurate looking and don't look forced this would be one of the best movies.
This movie as an actor I have spent time watching just to research and study facial expressions and moods.
And of course just a classic movie.
Everyone is STILL quoting this movie.
Don't name your daughter Jenny or any combination of that name for the next, 150 years till this movies died off. She will hate you
