Synopsis

As the 2007-08 presidential campaign cycle offered up the usual slate of Washington insiders, Ron Paul, an obscure Congressman from Texas brought an alternative voice that challenged the political establishment. Advocating a philosophy of sound money, a non-interventionist foreign policy, strict Constitutionalism, and individual liberty, Dr. Paul inspired a unique grassroots movement unmatched in American history - the repercussions of which continue to reverberate today and into the future of the American psyche. For Liberty: How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty follows this historic campaign from the perspective of grassroots activists, and showcases the unique, often bizarre, yet groundbreaking projects they undertook as they brushed aside traditional campaign methodology.

alan_decato I have always loved history and I have been inspired by the elegant simplicity of the documents left to us by our founding fathers. I have often lamented the erosion of the principles by revisions, that nullified the intent of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The election process has usually been distilled to a choice between two evils. The all important selection process has been reduced to sound bites. The major media outlets control the candidate selection processes. The two party system limits our choices. The Granny bus, those who walked, those who bicycled, those who raised money to float the Who's Ron Paul Blimp, have inspired me. This documentary showed how we the people can act independently but in concert to effect change. All of my life people have told me "Alan, you can't change the world." Watching this movie I realized how wrong they were, I'm going to follow my instincts, and my conscience, I'm inspired and because of this film I will do more to effect change in 2012.
srichardslocator I wish I could show this movie to everyone I know. It pretty well sums up the many things wrong in this country and the need for major change starting with getting the right person in charge (Ron Paul) and cleaning house. (The white one that is)! It had to have taken a lot of thought to so perfectly express the things that Ron Paul believes in with a documentary. This film makes me feel like there might be hope for us yet though the powers that be will fight tooth and nail to keep things the way they are. Still, it is good to know that there are still people out there with enough sense to see through the lies thrown at them on a daily basis. To the film makers I say thanks and keep up the great work!
dilloncoaster I absolutely fell in love with this film. Ron Paul is America's leading voice for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. You know the finances are so bad, and they're getting much worse because of the way they're spending money, running up the debt. I think the financial crisis is getting so much worse. Interest rates are going up. I think that's a major, major problem we face. Congressman Ron Paul has continued to run his Congressional office in a frugal manner, and was able to return more than $100,000 from his allotted office budget to the Treasury this year, an increase over the $90,000 returned last year.
Roxi Nevin I can see why this movie was shown at so many theaters! Very well done and it brought back so many memories. I recommend for anyone to get an accurate view of the US you live in today concerning campaigns, and media watch this movie! So many wonderful people came together to work hard for their values. I hope for a sequel because there was much left out, and much left to happen. I also love how many interviews with just regular people there were. They did a great job not making it about a popularity contest. I am so glad the creators have made the DVD's available at such a low cost especially to those who want to pass it out to friends or even to the public. I would have liked to have seen at least a mention of Operation: Live free or Die, the movement that brought over 500 people to New Hampshire to campaign for Ron Paul from November of 2007 till after the primary on January 8th. Great work, and great movie!
