Ferrari Ki Sawari - 06/10 =========== ====The movie title gave me a feeling that it would be about a road trip that the trio of Bomman Irani, Sharman Joshi and a Kid would take across the country. Surprisingly, the movie is more about a kids struggle to become a cricketer than about Ferrari. Who could have guessed that with that kind of title and posters? After watching the movie you will realize that movies like 'Ferrari Ki Sawari' is exactly the reason that people like me turn into film critics :-)There is a pattern which has become very predictable with Bollywood movies and its gotten really old now. The movie theme remains all happy and story seems to make sense till intermission. It is only after the intermission that they screw up everything by making things too emotional and unrealistic. I thought that acting of all the actors was simply superb in the movie. Bomman Irani has acted brilliantly, and this character of his, 'old-khadoos grandpa' was the best character he had done so far. Sharman Joshi's acting of a perfect father was equally good and so was the Kid's character. If not for the sucking story, their roles would have been no less than an Oscar performance, and all my points are for their performances. There's a dearth of idea about stories in Bollywood movie. Its only love stories or gang shoot-outs. Directors who select a different story either become big hits or screw-up big time. This movie would be the latter. Its about time that someone starts writing different but realistic stories. My suggestion: Worth watching for the acting effort that Bomman Irani and Sharman have put in. But don't watch it beyond intermission, you would only be disappointed at such a waste of talent.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra along with his team and new director Rajesh Mapuskar has given another reason to celebrate the sensible cinema and making one more positive contribution to the Year 2012 which would be known for the best known scripts like Pan Singh Tomar, Kahaani and Shanghai .Ferrari ki Sawari hits the right chord with the right intention. The story revolves around Rusy Deboo(Sharman Joshi ) a RTO officer and a single parent who is living his simple life with Kayo (Ritvik Sahore) his only son and his father Behram (Boman Irani). Kayo's dream is to become like Sachin Tendulkar –The Cricket Legend and his endurance for the same positioned him as the captain of his school's cricket team. But, next what? An announcement by his coach (Satyadeep Mishra) raised Kayo's hope to play at the Mecca of cricket i.e. Lords England to take his dreams at the next level but the salary of a honest RTO officer does not made his father eligible to avail the Loan facility from banks and Employee Provident fund of Shining India Govt brings on guarantee to help the employee right on time. So what's the Way out? Is it a Ferrari ? If Yes, how it gonna do that? These are the questions on which movie further revolves. The beauty of a movie lies in its characters notably 'Sholay' or to quote recent 'Kahaani' and fortunately Rajesh Mapuskar made that feel good with his characters whether its Seema Bhargava as a wedding planner, Tendulkar's domestic helper, security guard, politician & his son, traffic policeman and Paresh Rawal , as a selection committee member; all characters could be recalled easily despite the length of their roles.Regarding performances ,In 3 idiots Sharman was told to made noise of Motor in classroom and it was felt that the sound would be heard more clear in future and with this Sawaari of Ferrari he is riding high on his best performances till date without a doubt. Ritvik Sahore as Kayo keeps you amazed with his performance and Boman Irani has proved his versatility of playing any sort of role with this movie.Overall this is one rare Father –Son relationship Indian movie which explores the beauty of parental relationship with honesty and pride and promise to make this Ferrari ki Sawari more enjoyable. It might not make 100 crores at theaters but there are few fruits which ripen and becomes sweet with time

Ferrari ki Sawari reminds you of Do Dooni Char at times, where small families make it big. This one is about a Parsi family living their dream to make it big for their son. Sharman Joshi (Rustum)acts as the honest Harishchandra's son.Kayo is the son of Rustum who is a very talented cricketer. His grandfather Boman is against cricket because he was betrayed by cricket earlier in his times. The journey is about Sharman's efforts to arrange the money so that Kayo could play cricket at the mecca, Lords. The other side of the story is about a goon who wants his son to have a wedding riding on 625 horses aka Ferrari (625 hp). What follows is the combination of the above two stories with Sachin's watchman & worker hunting the lost Ferrari. The first half seemed perfect. The 2nd half was way too melodramatic with Rustum's appeal to the junta and admitting he stole a car without any repercussions to it.Some logic-less scenes like Ferrari came to the wedding without petrol, but can be driven back. Paresh Rawal hardly gets to act. Vidya's item song is one of the worst item songs I have seen. Boman & Kayo are first rate in the acting department. Sharman, at times, just overdoes it. Not amongst the best Vidhu Vinod's work, but it has its heart-touching moments. !
