danielgriffiths-37541 I actually created an account just to leave a review for this film. It started off promising but as the movie progressed it just became more and more ridiculous. I love shocking horror films so loved that element. However the film soon became filled with clichés and mannerisms associated with other horror films and franchises- so it lacked originality and was done exceptionally poorly. The ending is where the film completely fell short. I can't say it's totally clear as to what the ending is. The film relies on flashbacks to tell a story yet when the "truth" is known the ending is not so clear. Is it literal hell on earth and supernatural? A manifestation of guilt? I honestly have no idea as the execution was so poor the message just didn't translate. The acting was pretty consistently awful too which did not help.. I sometimes wondered if I'd be so nonchalant after some of the.. methods of torture used within the film (trying not to give too much away). Finally this is a massive spoiler but you discover they killed their baby. This is then briefly shown and the scene ends with the sound of a baby drowning. This was totally tactless and seemed to offer nothing to the film apart from shock value... I just wouldn't waste your time with this film. There are films within this genre (for example the French horror inside) that are just as shocking and just as disturbing but offer story, character development and either deal with issues such as children with more tact or it acts as symbolic for a greater purpose.
kosmasp Sometimes the question is: How much can you take? But while other movies seem to relish in the torture aspect, this does have something to say. Might not be the "best" thing or told in the best way possible, but it's still something. And there is a very nasty scene in here, that might make you squirm. Even if you are used to the special effects, there are always things that can make you feel uncomfortable. And this movie is all about that. While I guess you can see a twist coming long before it arrives, it shouldn't take anything from your enjoyment (if you can call it that). Good performances in this very strange (in a good way) movie, that succeeds even with a small budget
gpeltz Farm House (2008) Directed by George Bessudo Written by Daniel P Coughlin. Spoilers ahead. It seems a brutal torture themed movie. One that I would have avoided had I known in advance.A young couple,Scarlet and Chad, played by Jamie Anne Allman, and William Lee Scott are leaving their home, after the death of their infant, and heading north to find a new life. Nothing goes right for these two. A car crash thirty miles from anywhere, lead the couple to a remote farm house. They are treated cordially by Samael and Lilith, the owners played by Steven Weber and Kelly Hu. An evening of dining and drinking ends up a night of pain and torture. Unrelenting misery.Credit for the author in coming up with any kind of back story, to make all this torture serve a purpose. We get flashbacks that implicate our couple, Flashbacks of money owed to shady people, Insurance fraud, and worse. Scarlet and Chad are far from squeaky clean. The film is low budget, but the production values are good, I liked the score, by Mark Petrie. Lots of tight shots, and appropriate acting are the movies good points. On the other hand, I do not enjoy watching sadistic and gratuitous gore. If the writers could have reduced the cringe factor, the movie would have fared better in my book. The Ending of the movie almost justifies it's means. A curve ball thrown out of the park, by way of the Twilight Zone. Six out of Ten torture porn stars.
dissatisfied customer I wish that there was some way to describe how horrendous this film was. I could go into plot summary and analysis and even spoil the spectacular ending. However, I think the most effective way to explain the extent of this failure of a film is to describe my initial reaction...After seeing this movie i sat with two friends and talked about worse films we have seen. One of my friends suggested that "Grad Night" featuring Coolio was worse, but after significant debate and discussion, we decided that nothing could be worse. I was so horrified by the utter incompetence displayed by everyone involved in this film that I literally searched online for half an hour to find contact information for the director, just to tell him the extent of his inadequacy. After failing to find any relevant information on the director to write him some dissatisfied note, I decided to write on this site.I rented this movie from a Redbox from Giant FOR FREE and I still think it was an unbelievable waste of money. If i could some how receive money back for the gas I spent to get to the grocery store that is about a quarter of a mile away from where I live than I would.....So I beg you...I implore you! save yourself and do not under any circumstances watch this movie....
