ashgameover I watched this film because Costas Mandylor was in it and I am an avid fan of his. Costas' character starts off in glasses which clearly makes him uncomfortable and inhibits his acting. His character does not wear the glasses later in the film which seems to slightly improve his acting, however still does not match the quality of his later films. Of course, one would only expect an actor to improve over time. If you are a Costas Mandylor fan and you find him attractive, this film is enjoyable to watch on the basis of viewing Costas in lovemaking scenes and shirtless alone. There is one particular scene that I would love to take a video capture of where he is watching TV and he's only barely covered by a sheet in bed. Really smoking hot! The acting throughout the film was done decently by the entire cast. Nothing to rave about, but not bad either. The best acting in the film was probably done by Billy Dee Williams as the investigating Lieutenant. Another pleasant surprise though for me personally was an appearance by Peter Outerbridge who has also acted in another film starring Costas, Saw VI, where he plays the insurance company businessman. It was odd for me to see him with longer and lighter hair but he did a decent acting job in this film. I personally am not much of a Jenny Garth fan, I think she is an OK actress but rather overrated. The worst parts of this film were the horrible over-dramatic score, and the fact of missing details in the writing. There were some confusing things to me in the writing, one of which involves a painting and other things that just should have been explained or elaborated on more. That being said, it wasn't so horrible that it was unbearable to watch. I would probably watch this movie again if it's on TV sometime.

sol1218 ***MAJOR SPOILERS*** The tight and claustrophobic sets terrible lighting and pea soup like fog make watching "Falling for You" feel like you trapped in a mine or elevator shaft together with its cast from almost the entire duration of the movie.There's this crazed psycho who's got it in for pretty blond chicks who's way of murdering them is by throwing them out of the apartment windows of the high rise buildings in midtown Manhattan that they live in! NYPD detectives Lazzaro & Colton, Billy Dee Williams & Currie Graham, who are on the case have different opinions to who the killer is and what his motive are. In fact it's Lazzaro who's a bit gun shy in handling the case in that he screwed up in a very similar case a year ago where the prime witness ended up getting murdered. With that on Lazzaro's mind he feels that this time around he'll do, screw up the case, the same thing again!***SPOILER ALERT***It's the frisky and black belt in karate Meg Crane, Jannie Garth, who becomes the killers latest victim in falling for his sweet and nice guy act to the point where she ended up dropping her boyfriend Grege, Peter Outebridge, for him. The baby face and comatose looking psycho Paul Blankenship, in that nothing seems to faze this guy at all, played by a very blank eyed and emotionless looking Costas Mandylon who after gaining Meg confidence worked her over and threw Meg out of her 9th story apartment window only to have her survive by falling and hitting her head on the buildings 8th floor landing!Suffering form the loss of her short term memory Meg has completely forgotten in what Paul tried to do to her and later again strikes up a romance with Paul, now calling himself Eric, not knowing what he got planned for her! This crazy and dangerous affair with Paul leads to Meg's former boyfriend Grege's murder in him about to expose him in knowing that he's actually the wild and crazy Paul, not the sweet and lovable Eric, to the police as possibly being the high rise killer. One of the most puzzling scenes in the film that's a jigsaw puzzle in itself in the reaction that Meg has when she hears from Det. Lazzaro the news of Grege's suicide or what really was his murder. Meg reacted to this shocking bit of news as if Lazzero was talking to her in Mongolian not English by her showing absolutely no emotion at all!***SPOILERS*** The mind boggling final sequence in the movie has Meg regain her short term memory just in time before Paul is about to murder her! Paul who by now dropped all attempts of being normal lets it all hang out in what he's got against women, especially young and sexy blond's, but he's so incoherent and unintelligible that you as well as Meg can't make out a word what he's saying! Crazy as hell and determined to finish the job that he earlier started, murder Meg, Paul ends up on the short end of the stick by hitting rock bottom in his second and final failed attempt to murder her! Not once but, after unexpectedly bouncing back of the side of the building, twice. And it was that second time around that finally did the crazy and out of control nut case in!

MarieGabrielle Not a bad film, professing to be edgy with NYC art galleries, oddities, rain and fog (wow, after living in NY 20 + years I never knew there was so much fog)- I think the DP confused NYC with London.That aside, and if you can suspend your disbelief enough- the film is watchable.Jennie Garth is actually very good. She is attractive, but not in a helpless female victim sort of way. She is on her own in NYC, and somehow meets Costas Mandylor, a mysterious tenant in her apartment building.You will see the usual set decoration, complete with goth crosses- punk nightclubs- and ominous news clippings. Mandylor is believable, and strange. Billy Dee Williams is a surprise cameo as yet another weary NY detective. One disappointment is Williams' partner; played by Currie Graham, who does not look or act like a homicide detective. (This was where I saw the formula from Se7en; he is detective Colton, a novice to Williams-hmmm like Somerset and Mills (Brad Pitt-Morgan Freeman-Se7en) The story is worth watching, though, if you have ever liked Jennie Garth. If she ever dyed her hair, she may get offered roles other than the beautiful blonde femme fatale (from 90210) If she was ever offered a decent, suspenseful film, I would love to see her in that type of role. It is unfortunate how actors are typecast.At any rate, this movie is acceptable as a TV suspense film. If you have not already seen Se7en though, you MUST see it; and let me know if you see the same parallels! (Warning: Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt will have you hooked when you watch Se7en)
