sarah When I was a few years younger, I occasionally watched the series "Eva & Adam". I thought it had some kind of special atmosphere over it, that's why I liked it so much. But this movie is even better. The actors are all very pure and beautiful, in a very natural way, and the feelings of the characters are expressed very well. You get dragged into the life's of these children, especially Eva's life. I never would have thought that with my age (17) a movie about kids that are 14, maybe 15 years old would touch me in this weird way, but this movie did. And that's why I recommend this title to you all, because it's very enjoyable, for young and for older people.(p.s. sorry for my English, it's not that good..)
coyets Those who have seen the twelve part television series will know that Eva, played by Ellen Fjæstad, and Adam, played by Carl-Robert Holmer-Kårell, are rather an introverted young pair, very much in the Scandinavian tradition of film making. 'Eva & Adam - fyra födelsedagar och ett fiasco' goes beyond this entertaining interaction between the two, between Eva and Annika, who is played by Ulrika Bergman and has a very similar character to Eva, and between Eva and her brother Tobbe, who is played by Erik Johansson and covers many aspects of the harmonious and quarrelling sides of sibling relationships. The key to this further development is Petra, played by Rosanna Munter. She is hyperactive, one of those schoolchildren who simply cannot stay still, relax, and enjoy life in a passive manner. The role is played perfectly, and adds a new dimension to Eva's pensiveness. None of the characters is one-sided. They all react to different situations in ways the viewer might not have expected.Although the main story is a romantic one, the film keeps the viewer interested with many subplots, even if these are quiet, subdued ones in the best Swedish traditions. The fiasco scene is, of course, nothing of the sort. It is tumultuous as one would expect, and helps the variations of mood and pace which are so central to this film.Another highlight is the rendering of the song 'Mercedes Benz' by Eva and Petra. It is not only enjoyable. It also underlines the contrast in their characters through both pronounced and subtle body language and facial expression.Although I am older than the target age group of both the series and this film, I thoroughly enjoyed the former, and consider the latter to be even better.
ellen_fjaestad_fan1989 This movie is phenomenal!!! Much funnier than the series. The entire cast is terrific!!! Rosanna (Rosie) Munter, who is now in the pop group, Play, is so adorable! Gotta love her!! Ellen and Carl- Robert shine as the young couple in love. It's a pity that this movie hasn't been released in North America yet...it soon will I hope. I recommend this movie to any fans of Rosanna, Ellen, Carl-Robert or Swedish films. I'm gonna watch this movie the next time I'm in Sweden again. This movie is the best. I really want ya'll to see it!!! "Eva & Adam" Rocks!!Great movie!! It was sad when "Eva" breaks up with "Adam", but I'm glad things work out. The scenes with "Petra" were hilarious!!
Exiled_Archangel It wasn't one of the best films I've seen, but I can say it was entertaining. Comparing it to another Swedish youth film called "Festival", I have to say this one was way better. It was cute with the style it deals with the pure feelings of teens. It could have been much better too, only with less exaggeration. I have to say the young actors are doing a pretty good job. Apparently they have enough experience from the series. I watched this film to improve my Swedish rather than the sake of enjoying it, but I have to say it was quite enjoyable. Worth watching. Especially for those who feel like a flashback to their teens. 7/10 for this one.
