Eternity is a film by the rising director Mark Reyes, who directed Moments of Love, Mulawin: The Movie and the excellent Encantadia; it stars two of the Philippine's love-teams from Philippine's number one television network: GMA 7, Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado, Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras; and is written by Gina Marissa Tagasa-Gil, released through Regal Films. The film has a unique storyline: a mix between The Count of Monte Cristo and Romeo and Juliet. The film has two story lines, one during the Philippines during the Spanish colony and one during present Philippines. Where the two "present" lovers are suffering the same way as the "past" lovers. For me the best, out of the two storyline, is the "past" one with Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado. Basically, the story here is that Crisanto (Dingdong) and Milagros (Iza) are lovers but they are forbidden to love each other by Milagros' mother (Hilda Koronel), who spends most of her time inside the church with the town's friar (Jaime Fabregas). Milagros' mother forbids the love between the two because it was Crisanto's father was the one who killed Milagros' father.Like from the "past story" Cholo's (Mark Herras) father was the one responsible for the death of Meagen's (Jennylyn Mercado) father. And their love is forbidden by both of their families. There's more that happens, but I'm not going to mention it as it would be considered spoilers. The things that I loved about this film were it's incredible musical score by Allan Filiciano and Arnold Buena, the theme song by Gary Valenciano (I'm not a big fan of him, but the song was excellent) and the direction from Mark Reyes. The film received a B grade from the Philippine Film Evaluation Board, like the other Mark Reyes film, it is commended (Mulawin: The Movie was graded A while Moments of Love was graded B)."Past" Arc - 4.5/5. "Present" Arc - 3/5Direction - 4/5. Score - 5/5. Acting - 4.5/5The whole cast delivered excellent actings, especially Jacklyn Jose as Crisanto's mother , who is accused of being the town's witch. The movie finally showed me that Mark Herras can actually act.Overall "Eternity" is a film from the Philippines that you should see before you die.
