LeonLouisRicci It's hard to imagine, maybe you can, that a group of "Filmmakers" are sitting around and someone (who now would deny it), perks up an says..."I know what we can do...let's make a Slasher/Psycho Movie and not show any of the Murders...the Fans will love it...and since its a Teen-Horror-Flick...we will have no nudity or sex scenes...boy oh boy will the boys be surprised."If you are serious about making a serious Thriller with no Gore, no Sex, and very little on screen Violence, you better have one Helluva of a Killer Script with Dialog that is insightful and witty, with some surprises and enough suspense to keep things interesting, stay away from Clichés and above all, be Entertaining. But, there isn't an iota of intelligence, creativity, or freshness in this tired, slow, no thrills, boring, badly Edited, horribly Acted, Valley Girl Scripted (to Moderns still talk like that), and let's not forget, inept Direction. There is nothing here that can be of the least bit of interest to Movie Lovers or Humanity in general. A bona-fide Stinker.
mrse201 My family really enjoyed watching. Loved the subtle nuances and jumpy scenes. The mossy, swampy, steamy scenes are reminiscent of Hitchcock-style dark and twisty. We liked that a viewer can leave so much to the imagination like curling up on a dark and stormy night with a good book-just don't watch it all alone! And watch it more than once if you want to really capture its essence....the mental patient's obsession with a pretty student sets the tone for his murderous expedition and a certain rivalry later exposed explains much about what is happening in this small college town where the co-eds share a rental house not too far from a psych hospital. Protective instincts made us want to tell the girls to run, not look in the closet, don't stay home alone, all things we usually envision we would not do if trapped in this situation....at any rate if you like thrillers, give this one a look.
Paul Bastien Bought this BluRay on a recommendation from a friend. Watched it with my girlfriend, Missy, and can say both were frightened by this film because it seemed so real.We live near a penitentiary where inmates have escaped in the past. This movie brings the story so close to home that we are both thinking of moving!! LOL. Just kidding, I'm brave.I'll protect my sweetie any day against anyone. Except maybe against this Purcell guy : he is insane times 10!! Don't wanna give the story away but run like heck if this dude is on a rampage! Money well spent, Enjoy!!P.S. Don't want to p*ss off my missy, but the girls in this movie are easy on the eyes!
Billy Chang I was surprised at how good this film was after having read some of the reviews on here.Geez , people with an "ax to grind" should go play somewhere else. Some of us want honest reviews here.I usually stick to Kung Fu style movies where there is non stop action. While the film is not centered on fighting it HAS action of the terrifying, bone chilling kind. Dominic Purcall is a "MONSTER" in this film wreaking havoc on a small town!! Since picking up this film at # Redbox, I've become a fan of a newcomer to the genre ,Campion Murphy. This film cries for a sequel.I defy those who think they are bright to pick up on the numerous twists and embedded mysteries buried in the film.Ha! I saw them, if I may say so, myself! Ahem :) Do yourselves a favor & pick up a copy: see if you can pick up on the intricacies of this film:I dare you too!!!! Hahahaha...
