2013 was a pretty bad year in animation in my opinion, as a whole lot of bad movies in the Animation category came out that year (Free Birds and The Nut Job being notable ones). Granted, not EVERY animated film that came out that year was unbearable, but i just didn't like that year (even some films that were good, like Frozen and Despicable Me 2, are just ones i don't prefer) Nonetheless, EFPE ends up being an alright picture...but would i watch it above other movies? F**k no. The Animation is good, and the voice acting is pretty good as well, and it seems like the actors genuinely want to make a good picture (unlike The Nut Job) and while the story is terribly unoriginal, it at least doesn't insult human history (like Free Birds)...or at least not as much AS Free Birds. So in short, while not unbearable, this movie is definitely able to be skipped.

Review: Although this is definitely made for the kids, its one of those movies were adults can watch it as well because there are some funny jokes and the storyline isn't completely ridiculous. There is a wide variation of characters which keep the movie interesting and the animation was quite good. Its basically lighthearted fun for the whole family which is easy to follow from beginning to end. Personally, I wasn't expecting that much from the film so it was good to see that the director added a little adult humour, like the Simon Cowell reference and the talking robot who was supposed to be a rip off from the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. At the end of the day, it wasn't that great, but it harmless fun if you just want to watch something that will keep the kids quiet. Average!Round-Up: Surprisingly, there were some big names supplying there voices for this movie which was why I was expecting it to be bigger than it was. Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, Brendan Fraser and Ricky Gervais are just some of the famous names on the cast list, but the movie didn't really blow up at the box office. Maybe that's because there isn't that much depth to the film and it seemed like the studio just wanted to release it while the kids were on holiday. Anyway, the movie made quite a profit so I'm sure that were going to see these characters in a sequel. As far as animated space movies go, I have seen worse but this isn't that memorable. Budget: $40million Worldwide Gross: $75millionI recommend this movie to people who are into there animated, intergalactic kiddie movies about a space technician going to save his heroic brother from earth were an evil man has kidnapped him. 4/10

The storyline is about the conflict between two brothers and their struggle, but it is predictable and very shallow. It lacks of any new ideas and it feels like you have seen this movie already if you have watched some other alien animation movie. The animation (I watched it in 2D) in this movie are colorful and well done and the different alien lifeforms are interesting and funny to look at. So despite the disadvantages of the storyline it is quite an entertaining movie and has some good jokes along the line and I'm sure the shallow storyline won't bother kids as much as it did bother me. The movie feels like a blend between Monsters vs Aliens and Planet 51, so if you like any of those two, you are likely to enjoy this one as well.

well we will start off on one negative. the voices for some of the characters just didn't fit. George Lopez's character and Jane lynch's characters just annoyed me, i reckon George Lopez would be good if he was playing a more, tough and bulky character, unlike the alien he played named "Thurman". and to be honest Jane lynch should just stick to glee. her voice is just incredibly annoying when it comes to her character "Lo". but all of the other character's voices fitted perfectly and delivered solid performances. although the movie is enjoyable, it has it's flaws. as entered the second half of this movie, i began to lose interest. but what kept me going was a hilarious performance by Craig Robinson, as a Small and what he thinks, heroic mouse. I did like the fact, that it shows issues between the two brothers Scorch Supernova and Gary Supernova, and in the end how they fix those issues, and realize how much they need each other. in the end it was a enjoyable family movie that kids will love. I would give this movie a 6.4, if IMDb would let me for the review.
