videorama-759-859391 Before Eddie Murphy Raw, we had a more raw concert movie, Eddie sporting a ruddy suit, spouting obscenities and jokes, ones that come off much cheaper, than the latter movie. This one not really suited for cinema, especially when watching the opening with the bus boys to the theme "The Boys Are Back In Town". Some of the humor is in bad taste too, like the ones set around feces and furniture, where it had me visualizing the scene, and being put off, though laughing hard. Eddie also makes a honest point with Elvis Presly's acting, before ending this topic, by feigning a fart. Like Raw, the magic is here too, but like I said, the humor comes off more cheaply, where may'be too, Eddie wasn't as polished here as in later years, if to develop more in standup. Taking pokes at many other celebrities, and doing great impressions, Eddie makes Delirious, still a very funny show, the title kind of giving emphasis to his state, when flapping his lips with all this raw material. Watch for the shot of a d..khead in the audience jumping up, raising his shirt, of course, wanting exposure, but there's only one star of this show and that's Eddie.

beverlyhillscopseries Delirious is one of the best stand-up acts you will find ANYWHERE!! Yes it has lots and lost of blue humor and profanity but who cares. I was so in-tuned to what he had to say, many times I forgot he was wearing that loud-red leather suit.Murphy in this performance didn't care whose toes he stepped on. At the time Michael Jackson had just released Thriller which made him the most well known recording artist in the world, and Murphy even figuratively threw him a punch. When you are as young as Murphy was back then you are at your most hurtful to other people's feeling or its a "Me" time. Murphy was worried about his career and going down in comedy history, so he didn't give a crap about anyones feelings. He also even insinuated that Mr. T was gay as was that guy who was the star of the Honeymooners TV show.But all in all, Murphy was a star in the 1980s and this concert film had a lot to do with that. If you want to laugh and hear some life lessons, pop in the DVD of this film and you will be entertained more than you ever wanted to be.

Kevin Young I can understand when some people don't like this stand up due to the prolific swearing, but as Eddie said his show is more then curse words. The topics covered in this hour of pure entertainment are simply astounding. I have watched this movie over and over and still find myself laughing out loud. If anybody here is a fan of Eddie this is definitely worth the cost of a rental. Also it is down loadable on Kazaa or limewire or bearshare. I have seen Raw as much as I have seen Delirious and to me delirious is superior. His impressions are dead on, his laugh cracks me up. It is truly a shame he quit doing shows after Raw because it appeared he had so much to offer. The comedy he is doing now is funny I guess, but fails in comparison to him in his prime. I hope he comes back, George Carlin and Richard Pryor are proving age doesn't slow you down, just makes you wiser.
