jjoshp As a 16 year old high school kid, I throughly enjoyed this movie, despite its many negative and 1 star reviews. I felt a connection to the whole facet of growing up, as it is one of the parts of high school and of being a teenager i think about the most. I found a lot of the aspects about being a young adult very relatable, and brought back a lot of memories and even gave me some insight of the last years of my schooling. For a kid who loves these type of 'coming of age' movies, as it is a very prominent part of my life, I really enjoyed Dude and Lucy Hale, and have already recommended it to some of my close friends as I feel like they will feel the same.
fiannalb12999 I think that it was just a really good movie about the end of high school and going through change and realizing that change is a thing. if you're about to graduate, i think you'll kind of relate to lily
seanphinguyen I saw a review that says "nothing happens." They're kinda right. Nothing really happens but I really vibed with the closeness and familiarity of all the relationships. Just get high and watch this with some people you love.
Hellmant 'DUDE': Three Stars (Out of Five)A comedy-drama about a group of teenage girlfriends, that are all having trouble preparing for life after high school. It was written and directed by debut feature filmmaker Olivia Milch, and it stars Lucy Hale, Kathryn Prescott, Alexandra Shipp, Awkwafina, Alex Wolff and Nora Dunn. It was released by Netflix through it's streaming site, and I found it to be very mildly interesting and amusing. Four teenage girlfriends are preparing for prom, and life after high school. The brother of one of the girl's also recently died, and this has been hard for them to take as well. Especially Lily (Hale), who felt like she was in love with him. The girls all try to deal with other/new relationshipstoo, while also entering into this new stage of young adulthood. The movie is well acted, and seemingly true to life (at least some what). It also seems kind of pointless in the end though, and uneventful. I'm sure there is a point to it all, at least in the writer/director's mind, but it wasn't conveyed well to me. Still, it has it's moments, with inspiring scenes of young friendship and determination too.
