thetalich For a movie with low budget, it was pretty decent ! I rated this movie for it's standards. I really wish this saga to continue ! SHOW THEM THE MONEEEEYYYYY !!
aron-07115 Ok so I went into this movie expecting it to be bad....really bad. The acting sucks and the dragon looks horrible. This is just another example of Hollywood trying to capitalize on something that was good. Based on the original movie can there even be a sequel? There is something about captain Picard voicing a dragon that I don't know.....DOESN'T WORK. Maybe I'm biased but I remember the original dragon was Sean Connery. That was a good voice. A dragon is old and should be wise so naturally the voice should be old as well. Seriously having Patrick Stewart voice a dragon is like Justin Bieber be the voice of Yoda. There really wasn't a hidden message, the feminist movement would be insulted by the weak story of the female lead the sibling rivalry story was pointless and unconvincing. Outside of that the movie is more of a boredom flick then anything else. Maybe someone should do a prequel sequel to justify this movie. Just kidding. Prequels suck.
grisharkramer I must preface this review by saying I love trash. When I saw that the fourth Dragonheart movie was on Netflix I couldn't have been more thrilled. I was astonished when I saw the opening sequence, and could not believe how genuinely I was enjoying the directors touch. I usually watch this sort of thing to enjoy the flaws, and luckily soon after the credits it really starts to deliver on that front. The acting is actually fine, but the script delivers some genuinely terrible lines, most notably "A man's smell is his soul." There's a beautiful "Hey you are the King do some charming King stuff" montage. Patrick Stewart uses all his acting power to convey to the audience that he didn't want to be in a sound booth that day and that he has genuine disdain like the script, and also that he's reading it in the sound booth for the first and last time. The director and the costume designer are wonderful and deserve to work again with way more money. As far as whoever "wrote" the screenplay, thanks for all the chuckles. The CGI looks real bad.In closing: Directing 10/10 Costumes 10/10 Cinematography 10/10 Acting 9/10 (Except Patrick Stewart who is purposefully awful) Script 1/10 CGI 1/10 Stunt Choreography 7/10So it's a real mixed bag. If you love trash, it's beautifully shot and competently acted and everything else is hot garbage.
Jb Hiller This movie was very touching. It was more character driven then your average Dragon Fantasy. You feel for these characters.A few quibbles: the revisionist Feminism did not make sense. There was a lot of Game of Thrones. Especially the Brother-Sister "close" relationship. Some of the supporting characters were throw away.On the other hand, for a low budget movie the special effects were pretty good. Patrick Stewart is a worthy successor to Sean Connery. All in all I enjoyed this movie.
