kintopf432 Satisfying introduction to the world of TMBG. Your appreciation for these videos might depend on your taste for the band's unique musical vision, but it's hard for even the uninitiated to come away without tapping a toe, or smiling at the goofy visual wit. Wisely, the compilation's been arranged in reverse chronological order, so the videos get cheaper, loopier, and more inventive as you go along. The best ones come nearer the end: `Birdhouse in Your Soul,' `Ana Ng,' `Don't Let's Start,' and `Put Your Hand Inside the Puppet Head,' which feature bizarre choreography, jam-packed design, and a permeating silliness. Essential for hardcore TMBGeeks, of course, but recommended for newbies, too. The DVD contains some neat extras, and low-key commentary from Flansburgh and Linnell.
boyfriend-now They Might Be Giants ARE creativity, and the world has been blessed by their presence in music for over 20 years now. This is a collection of all their commercially released music videos made from 1986 through 1998. The pieces are generally no less creative than the band itself, and while, unlike some other good music videos, they don't appear to tell obvious stories, that doesn't mean they're any less interesting. Always light and often fun, each of these videos is repeatedly watchable from beginning to end.
