Gallant and charming master thief Deathstalker (a likable performance by John Terlesky) has to help the sweet Reena the Seer (an endearingly daffy portrayal by foxy blonde knockout Monique Gabrielle) overthrow the heinous duo of nasty wizard Jerak (essayed with lip-smacking relish by John Lazar; Z-Man in "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls") and his wicked hench wench Sultana (a pleasingly vampy turn by gorgeous brunette stunner Toni Naples), who have made a lovely, but lethal evil twin in the fetching form of Princess Evie (also Gabrielle, who's obviously having a ball being bad). Director Jim Wynorski, working from a cheerfully inane script by Neil Ruttenberg, relates the breezy story at a nonstop zippy pace, maintains an engagingly light and silly tongue-in-cheek tone throughout, stages the copious rough'n'tumble fisticuffs and spirited sword fights with real gusto, and tops everything off with an amusing sense of blithely campy humor. Moreover, a welcome appearance by a bunch of cranky moaning zombies, a hilarious protracted wrestling match between Deathstalker and the formidable Gorgo (beefy redhead Dee Booher), and Wynorski's trademark generous sprinkling of tasty gratuitous female nudity (Monique in particular looks simply scrumptious sans clothes) further ensure that things remain energetic and enjoyable from start to finish. The ravishing Maria Socas has a grand sexy time as the feisty queen of a tribe of fearsome Amazon warrior women. Leonardo Rodriguez's slick cinematography gives the picture an attractive bright look. Chuck Cirino's robust score does the rousing trick. The outtakes featured during the ending credits are sidesplitting. Good kitschy fun.

There's not to much point writing a whole lot here as most people have said it already. Looking closely at the actors reactions and nuances you can tell wholeheartedly that this project was a lot of fun to make. Jim Wynorski not only gave us an enjoyable sword & sorcery film in its own right but DSII simply knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. What we end up with is a great movie that is a hidden gem in the plethora of '80's garbage. You can watch again and again because you always pick up a great line that you missed in the previous viewing because you were laughing so much. And yes the two Australians that watch the movie religiously every week that they talk about in the commentary is me and my friend :)If you don't crack a smile at least a dozen times watching this film there is something wrong with you and whats more important in life than someone or some thing that can make you involuntarily smile!

Decently directed by Wynorski, Deathstalker II offers action, breast shots, bloody duels, ever thrilling adventures,Terlesky is decent and entertaining,he knows how to handle a sword and is at last great.Monique Gabrielle kidnaps our hearts with his almost naked and soft body.Ohh,we love her.In the role of Reena she stars as a lovable, but not defenseless girl.At last we can see her GREAT ass and tits. The villains are also decent and the fights well choreographed. Keep an eye to Maria Socas -the topless witch of "Warrior and the Sorceress"- that helps our heroes to defeat the evil with her army of beautiful amazons...Hey,there are also outtakes at the end of the movie.A must see. Don't lose it...

One of those very few sequels that exceeds the original by far. Although Deathstalker wasn't too bad in its genre, Deathstalker 2 exceeds it both in `cheapness' and in `ridiculousness'. It wasn't going to be pretty and they knew that while making it. They broke almost every rule in film making, and ended up with a hilarious movie, full of `functional' nudity, hilarious dialogues and `fierce sword fighting'. It's so full of cross references with other movies, (copied set's e.g.) that even for the notorious movie freak it's impossible to find the all. This is truly one of the best films in its genre!I'm still happy I bought this ex rental VHS a few years ago, mainly because of the extremely overdone cover and the addition: `Also with former Penthouse Pet Monique Gabrielle' ha ha. It must have cost the makers more to hire her than the budget for the entire movie..
