Synopsis

A fictional investigative documentary looks back on the "assassination" of George W. Bush and attempts to answer the question of who committed the murder. Perhaps less morbid and disturbing to watch now than during Bush's presidency, the film doesn't address Bush's policies at all, instead focusing on the way a nation assigns blame in a time of crisis.

enchantee4ever This film is so wrong on so many levels, it's not even funny. This is the most disgusting display of hatred and bigotry. I literally feel like throwing up. There is no point to this film. It is a wet dream for haters of President Bush. I am all for expression in art, and this is not art. It's a waste of 2 million dollars. The fact that it only brought in 167,000 says it all. I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, and I find this waste of film pure and utter trash. Hate is ugly. and that's one word I'd use to describe death of a president. (doesn't even deserve to be capitalized)If you hate President Bush, that's your issue. Talk amongst your little friends who think Hillary will be a *FABULOUS* president *gag me*. Say what you want...but when you go as far as doing a film about the murder of a President of the United States, you're crossing the line of decency. Oh, I can just imagine the protesters in droves coming out to bash any film maker of a film depicting the assassination of Obama. God forbid that - then it would be racist this racist that. Please. It's not right to make this trashy film about any president, former or present.I hope the people involved in making this asinine excuse for a film, get some psychological help.
dromasca This film caused a lot of controversy last year and the subject is certainly something to talk about. If we need to put it in a category it would belong into political fiction - the story of a political crime that luckily was never committed, but takes inspiration from the political killings in American and world history of the 20th century, from the assassination of president Kennedy and up to Yitzhak Rabin. As a political fiction movie the film is quite well made, with credible shots that make it look like a TV documentary made a few years after the crime. It is acted by unknown actors which adds credibility, as we do not associate them with any other role, and these are quite good, and fiction is combined with documentary by some fine editing. Less credible than the documentary atmosphere of the crime and investigation is the interpretation and the follow-up conclusions that the authors try to draw. As we all know history has taken a different course than the pessimistic scenario drawn in this movie, and because of this reason the film already looks outdated. Sometimes reality is better than the fictional history on screen.
lastliberal This International Emmy winning film is a clear picture of what the rest of the World thinks of Bush and his policies of warmongering and removal of civil liberties to suppress dissent against his illegal war.The focus is not on his assignation, as that really would change nothing with Cheney assuming control, but on the investigation itself into the killing and the fact that everything stopped once they had a Muslim suspect. Convicted on circumstantial evidence that would not hold up in any other murder investigation, the suspect remains in jail under Patriot III, even though there is clear and convincing evidence that another man did it to punish Bush for the death of his son.Of course, this is all made up. The film itself was well worth watching, and should be no surprise to anyone who is paying attention to what has been happening this country in the last seven years.
SnoopyDogDog Yes, my title is the essence of the film: Please don't kill Bush, because then we'd have cheney for president and then we'd really see how America would be run as a corporation. And completely without democratic rights or civil liberties.Aside from war, this would be the most interesting political event that could happen on this planet. That's why it's a good subject for a film. And this film IS good, with good acting unknown actors. The repercussions of a presidential would be devastating: The economy would plummet, but most likely and more importantly, the Americans wouldn't hold back (or rather: hold back even less) and might go nuclear after this one. And I think they wouldn't nuke China or Russia or some other country that would benefit from political chaos in the USA, nor would the Middle East be the target, since Iran would use dirty bombs, but most likely a nation in Africa, which cannot defend it self with some form of WMD, and has no resources. For that matter, if you have a business that would thrive on chaos, killing Bush would be a smart business move.
