naes666 I just saw this and really really loved it, the sights and sounds really take you back to 1984 when this was shot. Dead Kennedys in fine form and I saw so many friends of mine from high school in the audience it was really bizarre. The sound comes in and out and I swear it seems as if they dubbed the songs over the video as Jello often seems to be lip synching but it doesn't matter, this is just so great to see. I highly recommend this to anyone with interest in Dead Kennedys, punk or culture in the SF Bay Area in the mid 1980s.
morgashimo While I consider myself a huge DK's fan, I just can't recommend anyone actually buying this tape. Throughout the entire performance Jello is trying to get them to turn up the vocals without much success. There are some songs where you can't make out the words at all and the coolest thing about the DK's were always the lyrics. So, if you must buy this tape to see a band that hasn't played together since 1986 - Turn the Video's sound to mute and play an Lp or CD through your stereo. This almost works!
rb202 This is a must for Dead Kennedys fans. A complete concert, shot with four cameras, and yes - you can actually *hear* the music and vocals. The Dead Kennedys were headlining the last concert at the venerable San Francisco venue: On Broadway. The band and the fans are angry and sad that the On Broadway is closing, and you can feel the tension in the air. The band is tight, and Jello Biafra's theatrical performances get increasingly bizarre as the show progresses. All the stage diving audience members are as entertaining as the band!Recorded on June 16, 1984. Includes performances of the following songs (in order): Police Truck, Hop With Jet Set, A Child and His Lawnmower, Religious Vomit, Do the Slag, Moral Majority, MTV Get Off the Air, Life Sentence, Jock-o-Rama, Goons Of Hazzard, Riot, Bleed For Me, Nazi Punks F*** Off, We've Got a Bigger Problem Now.
DrEmmettBrown Dead Kennedys. The greatest band ever. If you're a fan of Dead Kennedys, you need to get this tape. You'll see how great they are live and you won't be disappointed at all. I got this tape, and I was blown away by this awesome performance. Jello Biafra, East Bay Ray, Klaus Flouride, and D.H. Peligro are geniuses.
