While heading to Galveston, Texas to attend a wedding, a group of 3 men and 3 women decide to stop at a small Bed & Breakfast to spend the night. What they don't know is that the owner of the Bed & Breakfast, who goes by the name of "Mr. Wise" (David Carradine), is involved in a form of witchcraft and has in his possession a magical box which grants him good fortune. Unfortunately, it has a dual nature and can release an evil spirit if the box is ever opened by anyone. Naturally, as one might expect, the box is indeed opened and the spirit immediately possesses one of the wedding guests named "Johnny" (Osgood Perkins) who subsequently goes about the task of transforming people in the small town into zombie-like creatures intent on killing everybody they see. Now rather than reveal any more of this film I will just say that, while I don't particular like most "zom-coms" (Zombie-Comedies), this particular movie wasn't too bad as it managed to mix some decent comedy with some adequate special effects. In short, while this movie certainly wasn't great by any means it was still somewhat entertaining and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Average.

"Dead and Breakfast" is a mixed bag of horror comedy. While the comedy often works, with some funny songs and good bits of silly gore, it's never genuinely frightening and often feels like it was quickly and cheaply put together. The film begins awkwardly, it's stilted and the scenes don't feel like they were meant to be seen one after another, more like they were coarsely stitched together because it was the only spot this shot or that one would fit in chronologically. I felt like there was no clear direction and a lot of seemingly random jokes added in out of desperation, like the movie wasn't supposed to be a horror comedy at first but when it became clear that it wasn't going to be frightening at all they added gags to the existing footage. Thankfully it gets better as it drudges on, particularly during the climax. There are some gruesomely comical deaths, clever musical bits and even a dance sequence that's pretty memorable. It's unfortunate that it only works about half the time but there is enough here to entertain the people who will read this title and say to themselves "Yes, a movie called Dead and Breakfast sounds awesome!" Hilarious and gory, two things I look for in a movie! If you love Evil Dead, or even Evil Dead The Musical THIS IS FOR YOU. Friends driving to a wedding stop in a middle of nowhere town for the night. When the owner of the bed and breakfast dies suddenly all hell breaks loose, no pun intended. Axes, chainsaws and homemade pipe guns are the weapons of choice for the gang who tries to defend themselves against the newly became zombie town. Fun and entertaining Dead and Breakfast fits the needs for horror fans by giving them something new but very familiar all at the same time.Zombies, blood, guts, and a dance sequence you cannot go wrong!

A group of young adults decides to stay in a bed and breakfast for the night, but by morning two people are dead. Now witnesses and possibly suspects, the sheriff keeps them in town... but that's not the best idea, since there's about to be an outbreak of zombies, and not many will survive the next few days.Maybe you stumbled on this film because you like horror comedies. And if you did, that was a good idea. It's funny and has gore that may remind you of such low budget classics as the early works of Peter Jackson ("Bad Taste" and "Dead Alive"). Nice blood, decapitated heads, a chainsaw and a homemade shotgun.Maybe you stumbled on this because of the cameos from Diedrich Bader and David Carradine, or the appearance of horror regular Jeremy Sisto. Bader and Carradine are both great, though their parts are small. Sisto is also his typical self, which means you'll probably enjoy him. He's not as prominent as he is in other films (such as "May"), but he does not disappoint. The reason you should have watched this film, but you probably didn't, is for Zach Selwyn (also known as simply Zachariah). He plays Randall Keith Randall, the musical gas station attendant. His songs are great, particularly one where he mixes rap and country, and has zombies dancing the "Thriller" dance. (Outside of this film, he is marginally known for his songs "CILF" and "TSA Gangstaz"... YouTube them.) The film would have been great without him, but he brought the enjoyment over the top.I had known of this film's existence for years, but never had it forced on me until now... I'm glad it was. The picture's a little grainy and the budget is clearly nothing special, but if you're the type of horror fan who can look past that... you'll love it. The only problem is that Billy Burke (Charlie Swan from "Twilight") dropped out and doesn't appear... but you wouldn't notice.
