poyrazbaklan I thought the first Dabbe movie wasn't very scary but still a decent attempt at horror, despite being obviously inspired by Japanese cinema. And by that I mean some scenes ripped off from Kairo and Ring. Still it scared a pretty bunch of people that they decided to film a sequel. So apparently they gave the director a camera, a couple actors and exactly two hours to film the whole thing. You can "feel" the plot going nowhere, even the actors aren't very convinced that this is a professional movie and not some video someone would shot to put on youtube. The premise is actually good. It is the end times and the world is about to end, in the shape of a black smoke descending from the sky to...make people zombies? There is scene where the destruction is seen on TV, and it is kind of good, not because it is very well done, no but it is not everyday we see Istanbul getting demolished in a movie, with fires and downing bridges and all. But the rest is characters getting scared by nothing on screen, and how do we know that? They keep saying "I am so scared, God I am really scared this time!" I thought director Hasan Karacadag really had good intentions with the first movie, trying to create a Turkish horror franchise, and when that botched I thought he did not have enough skill. Now with this one, I am not even sure of what he was trying to do.
anil koyural Dabbe 2 is a strange Turkish horror film for people who want to see a story from side of eastern prophecy of judgment days on big screen. I don't know that what I said but this film has really strange atmosphere.I think, its something little different or something new. But I am not sure for telling my thoughts because I can't explain that why I liked it so much.May be its weird but good. The cinematography and editing is good. Some scenes are dark and haunting.Unfortunately acting is sometime disturbing, this is main problem of Hasan Karacadag's films. OK,nowadays It is hard to find a good and original horror film from Turkish filmmakers and yes I know this one is not masterpiece but For Oriental horror lovers , this is a must.
saliharslan2 Actually Turkish horror films are awful. But Turkish horror filmmaker Hasan Karacadag's second effort(semum) was a brilliant movie for Turkish film industry.Dabbe 2 is new horror from same director. The storyline of this part is interesting.OK,I know it is not exactly a never-seen-before sort of storyline however some elements were eye catching. In the movie you will see that An apocalyptic Islamic prophecy met strange black smokes. The background sound design is really effective, camera-work and editing is creative. The basic idea of the movie is clever; If suddenly a strange creatures come from beyond of sky what will you do? Do you ask help from god for saving you or are you say to god 'Why you abandoned us? which one?.I think this movie has a potential for a remade with Hollywood.because it reminds me the Hollywood movie 'Signs' from Night Shyamalan. And lastly I have to say this time the special effects are OK for Turkish standards.Take a look it! overall 10/7
sertacakinwebber Hasan Karacadağ's 2nd movie d@bbe was a hope and a new point of view for Turkish horror films. Japanese horror film style was linked with Turkish beliefs, at the end, there was an impressive job and good start for this kind.However,d@bbe 2 just aimed to scare with sudden reacts. And they forgot something. There is no subject of the film!!! Full of interesting noises, voices and meaningless screams. you're feeling yourself in a noisy industrial estate...There will be an end of the series with Decc@l, I hope they are gonna focus on subject and make this film forgotten..
