Sensational movie. Great performance.its a must watch film for everyone. I liked the way it is scripted, the positive approach of the characters is excellent.. At anytime in the movie they are not feeling they are blind..it tells the society what true love is.. The hero always finds heroines footsteps but due to tense and fear he unable to find the foot sound in climax.. Similarly heroine feels she is unable to identify his footsteps like hero but in climax whatever the tense or disturbance she finds hero's stick sound.. That is what happens in true love.. Its a heartwarming ,great performance love drama film and definitely will be a award winning film of 2014..

A key differentiator for this, in spite of its inherent weaknesses, is the 'A' it gets for effort throughout, in all of its departments - direction, screenplay, score, acting, editing, production design etc. However, it is cliché-ridden throughout, and has chock full of stereotypical characters that populate it, and here's where the makers and the actors elevate the material in spite of said characterization. It is sappy, it is sentimental, and hits all the notes intended to work you up emotionally, tugging fiercely at your heart-strings (like, for instance, 'Sadma'/'Moondrompirai' or 'Ek duje ke liye'), and in this day and age, that should simply not work. So, its a huge credit to Rajumurugan and his crew that they made this one appeal to all classes of audiences, and I'm lucky to have caught this one at one of the best screens in the country. As I mentioned earlier, the score is special, as is the set design and cinematography, and we're right with the protagonists throughout their journey. The 2 hours 43 minutes swept past like a breeze, and I, for one, wished that I had spent more time with these characters.Don't be ashamed to choke back a tear/two, and ensure you don't miss this one on the big screen. Its quite an experience. And yes, I'm in love with Sudhandhirakodi as well.

Movie: Cuckoo(2014)Cast:Dinesh as Thamizh Malavika Nair as Sudhanthirakodi Aadukalam Murugadoss Somasundaram Elango NandhiniPlot:A love story between the blind turtle doves... Review:Director Raja Murugan, a Journalist/Reporter from 'Ananda Vikatan' had projected such a pecking story which is one of the best debut films in Tamil Cinema. Cuckoo, the name really sounded good to me. Cuckoo is based upon true love story between the two wings named 'Thamizh and Sudhanthirakodi'. The love between them was totally balanced. They truly inspired not only the director but also the hearts of the masses. Raja Murugan made the physically challenged people to feel very proud.Cuckoo really had one the best cast and crew. First of all Attakathi Dinesh, Mind blowing acting by him. He gave his best for the character named 'Thamizh'. He played a role of a blind man and I was able to feel the pain through his eyes. According to me, his hard work pays him one of the greatest awards of all time known as 'Appreciation'. Actress Malavika Nair, it is her debut film in Tamil and she gave her best for the character named 'Sudhanthirakodi'. The chemistry between them was totally tremendous. I really loved it. Not only them, the supporting actors were great, I salute them. They really added more beauty to the film. Director Murugan played his real life role as a reporter. He gave the narration to the script. He had done a wonderful job. Screenplay was pretty awesome. Photography was good and the cinematographer P. K. Varma, he had done a wonderful job. Editing and Visual effect were equally good. Cuckoo's music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan. This is his best so far. Mind blowing songs as well as the Background music. Excellency overload. Santhosh Narayanan's career best music composition, I would say. I really felt the soothing effect which really blends with the movie. Manasula Soora Kaathey, Agasatha and Potta Pulla were the songs which I loved the most. True colour of the cast without much big make up projected them beautifully on the big screen. Good ending as well as a good feeling climax. I felt very happy for it. I was totally involved into the movie as a character. A cyclone formed in me which finally ended up in raining from my eyes. Hats off to the whole team of Cuckoo. The running time of Cuckoo is exactly 163 minutes. Many said that the film was a little bit long one. But according to me, Cuckoo is one the films which did not make me to see my clock ticking and that credit goes to the true love.Again the only thing which I hated the most was, there were only about 15 people in the theatre. The same feeling which I felt while watching Onaiyum Aatukuttiyum. Guys, please do encourage these movies. Cuckoo is really a must watch movie.Bottom Line: 'Cuckoo' defines the meaning of 'True Love'.

Cuckoo(2014) Review: Finally watched cuckoo after the excitement and expectation created through the trailer. Here is my view on the movie: The story is about two visually challenged people falling in love and their struggle. The plot also showcases the normal living style of those people like their normal dailies and routine. So in that way this seems to be attractive and refreshing concept for Tamil cinema. Strength: Performances by both leads. Though the lead actor male has strained a lot to fit the role and has justified it, but towards the end of the movie his character goes too melodramatic and becomes cinematic. On contrast were as the female lead remains stable from the starting to the ending so definitely Malavika Nair did a splendid job and really makes us doubt that it is her debut movie. Then music by Santhosh kumar was sensational particularly the nos like "Aagasatha" " Manasula surakathu" and "Kodaiyila".Weakness: To say the screenplay was so slow and certain areas in the movie we feel its repetitions of scenes. So it goes so long more like a Tele-film and art movies type. So it lacks grip on the tale. Fails to create hard hitting feeling like "Deiva thirumagal" or of "Mozhi" or "Anjali" . Some logic holes in the plot like to mention one in the climax scene were heroine senses the hero after a long time gap but failed to sense him when he was right next to her. Overall I would say 4.5/5 for performances, music and concept of True blind love, 2.5/5 for the screenplay. -Reviewed by Sivakumar Balachandran)
